There are evenings you prepare for.
And then there are evenings that stay with you.
Last night in Vienna was one of them.
We honestly did not expect such a warm, extraordinary welcome.

More than 250 people filled the cinema for the Austrian premiere of Sniper Alley – To My Brother. A sold-out screening, followed by a long and deeply emotional conversation with the audience.
Questions. Curiosity. Reflections.
And, above all, so many heartfelt words of gratitude.
People stayed, came up to us, stopped us for photographs and wanted to talk about the film, about Sarajevo, about Džemil and Amel, but also about why stories like this still matter today.

For us, this is the most precious part of making a film: when it leaves the screen and becomes a shared experience.

We are deeply grateful to Sanjin Jakić, Consilium Bosniacum and Asocijacija Bosna for organising such a beautiful and meaningful evening, for the incredible care with which they welcomed us, and for bringing together such a wonderful audience.

And at the end of the evening, they gave us something that we will treasure deeply: a beautiful handcrafted miniature stećak, a traditional Bosnian medieval tombstone and a powerful symbol of the continuity of Bosnia and its people — past, present and future.

We were moved beyond words.
We made this film to preserve a story.
To keep a memory alive.
To give a voice to a childhood that was interrupted by war.

But nights like this remind us that memory does not belong only to the past.
It continues.
It travels.
It connects people.

From Sarajevo to Vienna.

On July 22, Sniper Alley – To My Brother was screened under the summer sky in the beautiful village of Palazzuolo sul Senio, Tuscany, in a deeply moving evening filled with attention, emotion and meaningful encounters.

Seeing Džemil’s story reach people in a place so far from Sarajevo reminded us once again that memory has no borders.

Creative Motion is deeply honored to announce that our documentary Sniper Alley – To My Brother will be screened this June in Chicago as part of the prestigious Bosnian-Herzegovinian Diasporic Conference — an important international gathering dedicated to Bosnian culture, memory, identity, dialogue, and the strength of the Bosnian diaspora around the world.

Being included in this meaningful program represents a truly important moment for our production company and for the journey of the film. Over the years, we have encountered an extraordinary community committed to preserving memory through art, culture, and collective reflection — values that deeply resonate with the vision behind our work.

Sniper Alley – To My Brother tells the story of Džemil Hodžić and his search for memory through the photographs of the siege of Sarajevo, exploring childhood in war, loss, resilience, and the transformative power of art against violence and oblivion.

Following its international premiere at the Sarajevo Film Festival, the documentary continues its international path, and we are proud that it will now become part of this important platform for dialogue and remembrance in Chicago.

We sincerely thank the entire team of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian Diasporic Conference for welcoming our film with such warmth and sensitivity.

Join us for a screening of Sniper Alley: To My Brother at BIHDC Chicago, June 5–7, 2026. This award-winning documentary follows Džemil Hodžić, whose brother Amel was killed by a sniper during the Siege of Sarajevo at just 16 years old. Driven by grief and love, Džemil embarked on an extraordinary mission to gather photographs of the siege from the world's greatest war photojournalists. Winner of Best Documentary at Glocal DOC 2025 and an International Première at the Sarajevo Film Festival, this film is a testament to resilience and memory.
