BEX - Beyond Exploration

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐢𝐬 𝐰𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐧

The very first edition of BEX - Beyond Exploration Expo has come to a close, and it leaves behind a clear answer: the space economy is no longer an abstract idea or a sector that keeps to itself. It's real infrastructure, already at work for global industry.

Over three days in Rimini, we proved it together. Every time space technology met a real-world need, the conversation shifted from "what if" to "when can we start", and the opportunities turned out to be far more than anyone had imagined.

Thank you to every exhibitor, partner, speaker and visitor who was part of this journey.

Next stop: fall 2027. Until then, swipe through to relive the best moments of BEX - Beyond Exploration Expo 2026 📸

BEX is the new international tradeshow powered by IEG Italian Exhibition Group .

At Space Voices, science and tech communicators, entrepreneurs, aerospace engineers and astrophysicists sat together to talk about a new kind of influence: one that doesn't stop at visibility, but turns curiosity into action.

What emerged is simple and powerful. Mix different worlds. Dare to try. Think bigger. Because you might be exactly the missing piece of the puzzle to bring new technologies and innovations to life, innovations that will create value for those who come after us, for the whole world, for humanity.

Thank you to Antonio Iannone, Chiara Brunetti, Gian Luca Comandini, Luca Perri e Vittorio Baraldi for making space visible, understandable and accessible to all, and to Chiara Rossi for moderating the conversation ✨

Today BEX - Beyond Exploration Expo is proud to host a session of the third edition of the General Assembly of the Space Economy, promoted by the IPSE - Intergruppo Parlamentare Space Economy. It's the institutional forum where Italy discusses the direction of its space economy, and for a first-edition show, being chosen as one of its stops says a lot about the role BEX wants to play.

The session taking place today focuses on start-ups, microenterprises and incubators. Small, agile companies are becoming a crucial part of the ecosystem, often the ones developing satellite applications, value-added services and entirely new value chains connected to space. But with technology moving this fast and international competition growing, creativity alone doesn't carry them far enough.

That's why the discussion centers on what makes growth possible: targeted financial instruments, access to infrastructure, and stronger collaboration between universities, research centers and leading industrial players.

Aerospace isn't just a high-tech sector. It's a system built on complexity, where knowing your field is only the starting point and the real challenge is integrating knowledge, managing uncertainty and keeping entire production networks aligned.

That's the transformation the Main Stage opened Day 3 with. Organized by Alma Mater Studiorum - Università di Bologna and , the roundtable looked at where Italian aerospace skills are heading: engineers who can hold a conversation outside their discipline, designers able to orchestrate complex processes, professionals who pair technical depth with relational intelligence. And what that means for how universities teach, how companies organize and how people grow inside them.

Moderated by Lorenzo Ciapetti (Tecnopolo Forlì-Cesena), the panel brought together Franco Bernelli Zazzera (Politecnico di Milano), Domenico Accardo (Università degli Studi di Napoli Federico II), Pasquale D'Amico (Italian Air Force Academy), Giovanna Labartino (Centro Studi Confindustria), Hady Milani (European Institute of Innovation for Sustainability - EIIS) and Anna Pia Spada (SITAEL).

A fitting start for a day dedicated to the people who will carry the space economy forward.

Tonight's Space Cocktail brought the BEX community together around one question: how will food evolve beyond Earth?

At the center of the evening, the 3D Spaghetto by Artisia, a Barilla 's Start Up: an award-winning project that rethinks pasta as micro-architecture, where design and technology meet one of the most familiar foods on Earth.

Awards, workshops, talks... and moments like this. Because BEX - Beyond Exploration Expo is also about the people who make the space economy happen.

BEX was never meant to be only talks and panels. Some technologies make more sense when you see them move, which is why an entire hall of the show is dedicated to drones and unmanned systems flying in live testing sessions throughout the day.

It's a show, and a good one. But it's also one of the most concrete ways to understand where Unmanned & Multi-Domain Operations are heading: navigation, control, autonomy and payloads tested in front of you, with the people who build these systems right there to walk you through capabilities and applications, from monitoring and inspection to logistics and security.

Air, land, orbit: the line between them is getting thinner, and the same know-how is increasingly shared across all three. Hall C3 is where you can watch that happen up close.
