One of the most breathtaking fountains in Rome… and somehow still missed by many visitors ✨⛲
Fontana dell’Acqua Paola, also known as “Il Fontanone,” sits on the Janiculum Hill and offers one of the most beautiful views over the city.
Built in the 17th century, it marked the end of the Acqua Paola aqueduct and was created to bring water back to this side of Rome.
Add it to your Rome itinerary if you love hidden gems, sunset views, and places that feel a little more peaceful than the usual landmarks ❤️

Some places in Rome are hidden not because they’re hard to find… but because their doors are rarely open 🚪✨
This weekend, visitors had the special opportunity to step inside the beautiful “In Mica Aurea” Courtyard in the heart of Trastevere, a place that is usually closed to the public.
The historic entrance from Piazza San Cosimato was exceptionally open, allowing locals and visitors to discover one of the neighborhood’s best-kept secrets.
The courtyard belongs to the former monastery and church complex of San Cosimato, one of Trastevere’s oldest religious sites. Originally founded in the 10th century, the complex was home to Benedictine nuns and later became an important center for religious life in the neighborhood
The name "In Mica Aurea" derives from the church's ancient title and has inspired legends over the centuries. Today, the cloister remains a peaceful oasis hidden behind the busy streets of Trastevere, preserving centuries of history within its walls
