Ageing a battery cell in real time can take years. For most development programs, reproducing the full service life experimentally is simply too expensive and time-consuming.
A more practical approach starts with an optimized cell characterization.
Machine learning can support this phase by extracting more information from a reduced experimental dataset, improving the characterization of the cell's behaviour, operating limits and safety boundaries while reducing the number of cells and tests required.
A well-characterized cell then provides the basis for defining a safe and representative accelerated ageing protocol.
The goal is not to use machine learning to predict ageing directly, but to build a reliable characterization that makes accelerated ageing both meaningful and representative of real operating conditions.

Two systems. Same energy output. Completely different impact on the environment. 👉 Explore the full analysis in our latest newsletter: https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/integration-problem-behing-everry-hydrogen-infrastructure-program-l2x3e
What looks identical in performance on paper becomes radically different when emissions enter the equation. That’s where the comparison between a conventional 30 kW generator and SIRIH2 changes perspective entirely.
One delivers energy. The other redefines what “delivering energy” means in a zero-emission scenario.
→ same operational conditions
→ same energy output
→ fundamentally different environmental outcome
Because in energy systems, what matters is not only how much you produce, but what you produce it with!

Working with established OEM standards is never a formality, it is where engineering maturity is tested.
In this video, Leandro Vada from the Battery Team takes us inside a pre-series project developed for a hybrid electric vehicle together with a major OEM.
A context defined by strict architectural choices and equally strict industrial requirements, where ex*****on quality becomes the real differentiator.
👉 What emerges is a clear shift in perspective:
it’s not about redesigning the system, but about proving reliability within it — consistently, at industrial level.
A demanding project that pushed our processes forward and reinforced a simple principle: value is created in ex*****on, where complexity becomes real.

In 2013, BeonD started as a spin-off of Politecnico di Torino.
Today, we're a structured engineering partner for automotive, aerospace, and rail programs — and part of CSI S.p.A., a company of the IMQ Group.
What changed? The scale of the problems we solve.
What didn't? The approach: full cycle, from cell selection to system validation. No shortcuts between engineering and real-world performance.
Last week, our CEO Alessandro Ferraris had the chance to talk about this journey with La Repubblica: where we are today, where the industry is heading, and why the integration between design, simulation, and certification is becoming the real competitive variable for complex programs.
The goal hasn't changed since day one. Make industrial systems that work, not just in the lab, but in the field!

Today our colleagues Ilaria Luciano and Simone Pennavaria are at Arrow Electronics World in Parma.
A key meeting point for the electronics ecosystem, where AI, embedded intelligence and system integration are shaping the next generation of industrial innovation.
At the event, we are showcasing the DEMO of the Digital Battery Passport, developed together with our partner Upthere. The project combines BeonD's expertise in battery pack design and manufacturing with Upthere's capabilities in blockchain and enterprise software development.
Innovation is rarely the result of a single technology. It comes from combining complementary expertise to build solutions that address real market challenges.
That's why we believe collaboration is the foundation for developing systems that are not simply a sum of parts, but scalable, reliable and ready for the future.

Most battery programs don't slow down because of the cell. They slow down at the next variant. Read our latest article: https://bit.ly/scaleyourbatteryprojectfaster
In our latest newsletter, we explore:
→ why scalability in battery programs is an architectural question, not a product one
→ where configuration ends and engineering begins
→ how a structured BMS approach reduces ex*****on risk across applications
A working prototype proves that the system can function. Scaling that same project across different vehicles, machines or operating profiles is a different problem entirely.
That's where the BMS stops being a component, and starts behaving as an architectural choice.
When the intelligence layer is rigid, every new application restarts the engineering effort. When it's configurable and supported by system-level competence, the same battery project can evolve without losing control over timelines, integration and validation.

Across battery and electrification programs, the challenge is consistent:
👉 reducing engineering uncertainty
👉 aligning simulation with real-world behaviour
👉 ensuring scalability from prototype to production
👉 validating safety through advanced battery testing, including thermal runaway assessment
At BeonD, we operate across battery systems, BMS, thermal integration, and battery testing to transform these challenges into validated, industrial-ready solutions — faster, and closer to real-world deployment.
Because in electrification, performance alone is not enough. 𝗜𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗲𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝘀𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲.

Innovation becomes useful when simulation meets real-world ex*****on!
Yesterday, BeonD joined 𝗜𝘁𝗮𝗹𝘆 𝗢𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 hosted by BETA CAE Systems at the Museo Nazionale dell'Automobile .
Throughout the event, multiple case studies showcased how advanced simulation workflows are supporting increasingly complex engineering activities across different industrial applications.
We contributed with the presentation "Be(y)ond simulation: a CFD workflow validation for a kart aerokit with ANSA, Fidelity CFD, SPH Solver, META" by our colleague Simone Reitano.
👉 Our case study focused on CFD methodologies and workflow validation applied to kart aerodynamics, exploring how integrated simulation approaches can support more reliable and consistent development processes, thanks to an additional SPH-based analysis to investigate driver visibility in wet track conditions.
Thanks to everyone who joined our session and engaged with us during the event!
