Meet the designers shaping Venice Design Week 2026.

Today we introduce Rafael Luna, Director of the Infra-Architecture Lab and Senior Lecturer at the University of Technology Sydney.

Educated at MIT and the Accademia di Architettura di Mendrisio, his research investigates inhabitable micro-architectures, interlocking plywood systems that become furniture, rooms, and pavilions.

Lightweight, reversible, low-carbon: interventions that reshape how we experience space without overwhelming it.

His work has been exhibited at the Venice Biennale, the Seoul Biennale of Architecture and Urbanism, and Melbourne Design Week.

VENICE DESIGN WEEK X AIPI

Un nuovo protocollo d'intesa unisce Venice Design Week e AIPI - Associazione Italiana Progettisti d'Interni, per portare in laguna un percorso di incontri e conferenze dedicato al progetto degli interni e al benessere abitativo.

Durante la settimana del design, progettisti e professionisti del settore si confronteranno sulla qualità del progetto, con uno sguardo alla percezione sensoriale dello spazio anche in dialogo con l'Università Iuav di Venezia.

Meet the designers shaping Venice Design Week 2026.

Today we introduce Coraline Roy, a French designer whose practice moves from drawing to realization, staying close to materials, textures, and making at every step.

Freshly graduated in object and service design, her work explores the space between formal research and hands-on craft. Her modular shelving system BibliLowTech, combining wood, rope, and 3D-printed components, adapts to the space and the books it holds.

Today we introduce Sonya Beatrice Granata, an Italian visual artist and glass designer, founder of Idee In Vetro. Trained in advertising graphics at the Istituto Europeo di Design, she developed her visual language through years of work as Art Director before turning it fully toward glass.

Her work spans Tiffany technique, glass fusion, and material recycling, transforming bottles and old window panes into entirely new objects through a single firing cycle. Each piece, whether a work of art, a furnishing element, or an everyday object, is one of a kind.

Every creation begins in her mind: the finished work must be fully visualized before the process starts. Only when every element feels harmonious does she pick up her tools.

We awarded it Best Design Lamp at the Venetian Smart Lighting Award and exhibited it at VDW 2025. It's always good to see design we believe in get the recognition it deserves.

Today we introduce Lucia Chiara Helbing, founder of a German studio that elevates natural cork into sculptural objects for interior space.

Born from the desire to protect design classics without concealing their beauty, terials moves between architectural minimalism and organic warmth.

Each piece, from vases to tableware, is handcrafted on demand, treating material responsibility and aesthetic precision as inseparable.

The Light of Rising Tides returns to Venice

Originally created for Venice Design Week 2025 and first presented on the waterfront of Riva Ca' di Dio, the immersive installation by Studio MAST is now part of BOX OF ART - Sea Project, a new initiative by Consorzio C.A.P.L.I. dedicated to the dialogue between contemporary art and the coastal landscape of Venice.

A journey of light and movement that envelops visitors in the sensation of being underwater, where the hypnotic rhythm of waves becomes shifting light patterns, responding to the presence and movement of those who pass through.

A reflection on rising sea levels, and on what it means to live alongside waters that keep climbing.

Made possible by Ceresio Arredamenti, Ideolux, Rubelli, Design33, Hooroon and Arte e Design Venezia with engineering by Lorenzo Renzi (Studio RENZI).

BOX OF ART - Sea Project is directed by Alessandro Rizzo, with artistic direction by Orseola Barozzi and curated by Roberta Semeraro.
