Australian Grand Prix
The 2026 FIM Motocross World Championship came to a close at the Hidden Valley Motorsports Complex in Darwin, a spectacular track that already hosted the World Championship last year. In the season’s final round, the Australian Grand Prix, the MRT Racing Team Beta Factory took to the track determined to secure the last crucial points of an intense competitive season.
In Saturday’s practice sessions, Jago Geerts (Beta RX450) focused on getting a feel for the track, finishing tenth in free practice and eleventh in timed practice. In the qualifying heat, the Belgian put in a solid performance, crossing the finish line in ninth place.
In Sunday’s main races, Jago demonstrated good speed. In Race 1, after starting just outside the top ten, he was able to move up a few positions to finish ninth. He replicated this result in Race 2, which allowed him to finish ninth overall for the day.
The Belgian finished in 14th place in the final MXGP championship standings at the end of his first season with the MRT Racing Team Beta Factory. This result recognizes the hard work put in by the manufacturer, the team, and the rider throughout the long and demanding racing season.
Jago Geerts: “I’m pretty satisfied with how I rode this weekend. In both heats, I was battling for seventh or eighth place. Unfortunately, in Race 1 I had a minor crash, and in Race 2 I went off the track. Still, I felt like I was riding strong, and I’m happy with this result.”

The Shanghai circuit hosted the penultimate round of the 2026 FIM Motocross World Championship. The MRT Racing Team Beta Factory took to the track to tackle the challenging Asian away race, fielding Jago Geerts (Beta Rx450) in the MXGP class. In a highly competitive and technically demanding environment, the team and the Belgian rider demonstrated steady improvement throughout the weekend.
Jago posted an excellent sixth-fastest time in qualifying, which determined the starting grid for the qualifying race. In that race, the Belgian started seventh and successfully held his position all the way to the checkered flag. He didn’t get off to a great start in the first race, but thanks to his great pace, he fought his way back to finish in eighth place. In the final race, despite fatigue setting in toward the end, he managed to finish in ninth position. This result was also reflected in the day’s overall standings, where Jago secured his best points haul of the entire season. This result also allowed him to climb to fourteenth place in the championship standings. Next weekend, the MRT Racing Team Beta Factory will be competing in Darwin at the Australian Grand Prix, a race that will bring the 2026 FIM Motocross World Championship to a definitive close.
Jago Geerts: “It was a good weekend. Right from the first practice session, I felt comfortable on the track. Unfortunately, I didn’t have much luck with my starts today, but I felt I had a good pace. Because of the track layout, I struggled to pass riders. Now I’m looking forward with confidence to next weekend for the final GP of the season in Australia.”

The Afyon circuit hosted the seventeenth and third-last round of the 2026 FIM Motocross World Championship, the Turkish Grand Prix. This was the ninth time the Asian circuit had hosted a world championship round since its debut in 2018.
In the MXGP class, Jago Geerts (Beta RX450) began the weekend by setting the thirteenth-fastest time in both free practice and qualifying. The Belgian staged a good recovery in qualifying, finishing once again in thirteenth position. Geerts put in a solid performance in the first race, finishing thirteenth thanks to a good pace. In the second race, Jago managed to improve on his performance, finishing in twelfth position. Finishing thirteenth overall, Jago has moved up to fifteenth place in the championship standings.
With the race in Turkey now behind them, next weekend the MRT Racing Team Beta Factory will take part in the Chinese Grand Prix, the penultimate round of the 2026 FIM Motocross World Championship, which will be held at the Shanghai International Offroad Circuit.
Jago Geerts: “It wasn’t the best weekend in Turkey. It’s not my favourite track and I struggled with the bike because of the altitude. I gave 100 per cent in every session; I can’t wait for next weekend in China.”

The Netherlands Grand Prix, the sixteenth round of the FIM Motocross World Championship, took place at the Arnhem circuit, which is characterised by a sandy surface. Over thirty thousand fans watched the races from the stands surrounding the Dutch track. Jago Geerts (Beta RX450) took to the track for the MRT Racing Team Beta Factory; the Belgian rider was determined to build on the progress he had shown throughout the season. Twenty-third at the end of free practice, he made up a few positions in the timed practice session to finish twentieth. The Belgian had no luck in qualifying and, after a good start, was forced to fight his way back up the field following a crash. He finished the race in nineteenth place. In the first race, after starting around fifteenth position, Jago managed to fight his way back up to finish in eleventh place. In the second race, he was hampered by the after-effects of the blow to his leg sustained at Uddevalla and slowed his pace slightly, though he still finished fourteenth. In the second heat, he was able to improve his position, finishing in twelfth place. These results saw him finish in the top ten, tenth overall for the day. Geerts maintained his sixteenth position in the championship standings.
The race at Arnhem was the final GP of the season on European soil: in two weeks’ time, the MRT Racing Team Beta Factory will be competing in the Turkish Grand Prix, the seventeenth round of the 2026 FIM Motocross World Championship, which will be hosted at the Afyon circuit.
Jago Geerts: “After a difficult Saturday, I managed to complete two good heats today. I felt better and better as the weekend went on. After last weekend’s crash, I wasn’t in top form and needed a bit more time to get into my stride. In the end, I finished tenth overall, a result I’m satisfied with. Next week I’ll focus on getting back to peak condition, so I’m ready for the last three races of the season.”

Eighteenth overall on the day, Geerts retained sixteenth position in the championship standings. Tomorrow, the Belgian rider will undergo further medical examinations to assess his condition ahead of the upcoming rounds of the World Championship.
