Roaring Ras Productions

Jahmali (born Ryan Thomas on April 5, 1972, in Clarendon, Jamaica) is a highly respected conscious roots reggae singer and songwriter.

"Jahmali is a Jamaican roots reggae artist known for his powerful, soulful voice and deeply conscious, uplifting lyrics. He emerged in the late '80s/early '90s during the dancehall era but always stayed true to the classic one-drop roots and cultural style of earlier generations like Bob Marley, Dennis Brown, and Garnet Silk. His music often carries strong spiritual, social, and motivational messages."

Raised in the Jamaican countryside among sugar plantations as one of 10 children. He moved to Kingston, became a teacher, and started singing under names like Junior T before adopting Jahmali. He has Rastafarian influences mixed with his upbringing.
Smooth, melodic, and heartfelt vocals over solid reggae riddims. He's praised for writing much of his own material and for bridging classic roots with a modern feel.

Recorded for major producers like King Jammy, Fatis Burrell (Xterminator), Donovan Germain (Penthouse), Bobby Digital, and others.

Standout tracks include "El Shaddai", "Real Issues", "Cry People", "Wake Up", "I Am On A Mission", and "Victory". His 1998 album El Shaddai is especially well-regarded.

Positive, revolutionary, and spiritual, focusing on empowerment, justice, faith, and everyday struggles. He's seen as part of the roots revival in reggae.

In short, if you're into authentic, message-driven reggae vibes, Jahmali is a solid artist to check out. He's got that timeless "conscious lover" sound that still feels fresh decades later.
