My Glorious Grandma Gloria ❤️

She has shown me how to love loudly. The kind of love that gives and gives, and never asks for anything in return.

Some of my very first memories of pure joy have been with my grandma. Lying in her bed imagining that we were on a boat at sea, singing melodies of The Little Mermaid loudly in the bathtub, playing dress-up in her closet, where no shoe was off-limits.

At the time I thought we were only just playing, but I now see she was also building safety. To be expressive, letting our imaginations run wild ❤️.

She was always there, a fierce and loving constant, no matter how big or small the moment or milestone.

Anyone who’s ever crossed paths with my grandma carries a memory of her. Even now, decades later, people hear our last name and immediately ask if we’re related to Gloria Zaslav. We say yes, proudly, and they light up (we do too).

They tell us how you were their teacher. How your lessons stayed with them long after the classroom. But more than that, how your warmth made them feel seen in a way they never forgot.

My grandma has shown me, in every decade of her life, how important it is to keep people close, and what it means to take real joy in knowing someone deeply.

I feel that legacy in my own life, in how much I value my family and my friendships, in how intentionally I stay connected to the people I love. That part of me has always felt instinctive, and I’ve always known it came from Gloria ❤️.
