Closing down the kitchen at the end of the day is an important ritual for me personally . One of the reasons is to wake up to a beautifully clean and clear space in the morning. The kitchen sink works hard all day and therefore requires a few actions prior to giving it some rest in the evening.

☝️Don’t leave any food anywhere around the kitchen sink lingering over night, pests are attracted to food left overs and are certainly not welcomed.
☝️ Don’t leave the sponge in the soap dish overnight. Do rinse it well and keep it on a dry shelf far away from water.
☝️ Don’t leave dishes and plates outside the cupboards, please do clean up and declutter the kitchen sink area.
☝️ Don’t leave rubbish under the sink, clean the rubbish bin and throw away trash outside your home prior to closing down your kitchen.
☝️ Use a drop of olive oil with a paper towel and shine away the faucet and sink to remove streaks ! This keeps it shiny! Rinse and dry!
☝️ Check the under sink cupboard for any cleaning products that you might be running out of or might that have been left open. Make a list and organize this low level area.
☝️ Do wash the kitchen towels and hang to dry!

There are times when we purchase new furniture pieces or clothing items but we don’t look into their surface or fabric care instructions.

During our workshops we stop and look into these instructions and try to find the best methods for cleaning, washing and using the right tools.

Hello dear Homemakers. Today and as I start my daily homemaking chores, I remind my self that we live in a country that is scarce on water resources. Please take a moment to think of how and where we are spending water. Are we being rational in the way we clean our homes.

Saying that , my favorite two steps for cleaning are to vacuum clean the floors to remove dust, debris and dirt and then follow by a mop using Little water and detergent.

I constantly remind my family members and house keeper to conserve on water consumption and to watch out for leaking taps and toilet flushes that drip water constantly and thus waste water. 🙏🌹

It goes without saying that we only have one Mother Earth. We need to celebrate it by taking care of it and watching out for it!

Those of us out there who value their walks, appreciate nature, fresh air, a clean environment and other blessings that Mother Earth provides , we need to pay close attention to our carbon foot print while we get through our days.

Us homemakers can make a change!
There is a lot that we can do , please celebrate Mother Earth’s Day and keep track of what is consumed , how much we consume and similarly what we dispose of and send to the land fills.
