UNDP Jordan

UNDP Jordan , in collaboration with the Central Bank of Jordan and with support from the Better Than Cash Alliance , convened a dialogue session to develop practical recommendations supporting national efforts to improve access to digital financial services and encourage their sustained use by women- and youth-led small and medium-sized enterprises.

As a strategic development partner, United Nations Development Programme - UNDP brought together regulators, financial institutions, payment service providers, financial technology companies and local communities to discuss barriers, identify opportunities and explore more inclusive financial solutions that respond to the needs of communities across Jordan.









عقد برنامج الأمم المتحدة الإنمائي في الأردن، بالتعاون مع البنك المركزي الأردني وبدعم من تحالف «أفضل من النقد»، جلسة حوارية حول الخدمات المالية الرقمية، بمشاركة ممثلين عن المؤسسات المالية ومقدمي خدمات الدفع وشركات التكنولوجيا المالية والمجتمعات المحلية.

ناقشت الجلسة الفرص والتحديات التي تواجه المنشآت الصغيرة والمتوسطة التي تقودها النساء والشباب في الوصول إلى الخدمات المالية الرقمية واستخدامها، وسبل تطوير حلول أكثر شمولاً واستجابة لاحتياجاتها.

وتسهم مخرجات الجلسة في دعم الجهود الوطنية الرامية إلى توسيع استخدام المدفوعات الرقمية وتعزيز الشمول المالي في الأردن.

Sometimes resilience begins with recognising value where others may see waste.

In the Jordan Valley, women participating in the Advancing Food Systems Resilience project are developing products from oranges and orange peel, creating new sources of income connected to local agritourism.

Their work reflects a simple but powerful idea: local food systems become stronger when communities are supported to reduce waste, add value to local resources and connect their products with new economic opportunities.

This is how local innovation can contribute to more resilient and inclusive food systems.
