A mother should not have to choose between earning a living and feeding her child.
When workplaces lack lactation rooms, breastfeeding breaks, and supportive policies, exclusive breastfeeding becomes far more difficult once maternity leave ends the result is not a lack of commitment from mothers it is a lack of support from systems.
As we mark World Breastfeeding Month 2026, we must remember that breastfeeding is not only a health issue it is a workplace issue, a gender equity issue, and an economic issue.
Employers have a critical role to play by providing safe lactation spaces, flexible breastfeeding breaks, and environments where mothers can continue breastfeeding without stigma or penalty.
Supporting breastfeeding is not a favor to mothers it is an investment in healthier children, healthier families, and a more productive workforce.
Support does not stop at 3 months It continues wherever a mother returns to work.

🌍 Day 1 | CAADP Kampala Declaration & Africa’s Agrifood Future
Yesterday, SEHub joined the EAFF Regional Workshop on CAADP Kampala Declaration Implementation, bringing together farmer organizations, policymakers, development partners, financial institutions, youth and private-sector actors.
A key takeaway: Africa’s agricultural transformation must translate into practical opportunities for farmers, women and young people.
From climate-resilient food systems and youth participation to investment and farmer-led advocacy, the conversation is clear—implementation must reach the community level.
The question remains: How do we turn bold continental commitments into measurable change on the ground?

At SEHub, we believe safe food begins long before it reaches the plate.
As a proud member of the Route to Food Alliance, we joined partners, researchers, policymakers, and farmers for the national dialogue on food safety and the launch of the report on pesticide residues in vegetables sold in Kenyan markets.
How safe is the food on our tables—and what can we all do to make it safer? The evidence shared reinforces the need for informed consumers, stronger policies, and sustainable farming practices.
Together, we can build a food system that is safe, healthy, and sustainable for everyone.

The CASCADE Project, implemented by CARE Kenya in partnership with GAIN, concluded a transformative 4-day Budget Making and Civic Engagement Training Workshop for Community-Based Organizations and the Sun Business Network in Nairobi County.
The training aimed to equip organizations with the knowledge and skills to effectively engage in county planning and budgeting processes—ensuring nutrition-responsive financing aligned with the County Nutrition Action Plan.
We were particularly delighted to see strong participation of young leaders in this forum, reinforcing our commitment in nutrition governance.
