We are happy to welcome 2NK Sacco to the electric revolution.
Their new electric vans are now serving the NairobiโNakuru, NairobiโNyeri, NairobiโKaratina, and NairobiโNanyuki routes, giving passengers a cleaner, quieter, and more efficient travel experience.
The vans will charge at our Nyeri charging station, making inter-county electric mobility more accessible and reliable.
Welcome to the electric movement, 2NK!
It's not always buses, charging stations, and meetings at BasiGo. Sometimes, it's penalties, cheers, and a little healthy competition! We recently held a departmental penalty shootout that brought colleagues together for an afternoon of friendly competition, team spirit, and plenty of fun. The energy was high and the rivalry friendly as teams battled it out for bragging rights.โฝ๐
Because the strongest teams are built both in and outside the office
Today we celebrate the fathers, mentors and role models who guide, support and inspire us everyday. Your teachings have left a lasting impact in our lives. Happy Father's Day.

Proudly rolling through the streets of Nairobi as part of the e-mobility parade is our newest entrant, Kenyaโs first electric school bus
A cleaner, quieter, and more sustainable future for student transport is no longer an idea. It is here.
Nairobi, are you ready?
A powerful convoy of electric buses, motorcycles, tuk tuks, and cars has rolled out from Kenyatta International Convention Centre (KICC) and will cruise through 43 kilometres of Nairobiโs most iconic roads: Waiyaki Way. James Gichuru Road. Olenguruone Road. Langata Road. Raila Odinga Way. Arwings Kodhek Road. Lusaka Road. Jogoo Road. Outer Ring Road. Thika Road. City Hall Way. Uhuru Highwayโฆ and back to KICC.
The future of mobility is hitting the streets. Donโt miss it.

We are honored to be recognized as a Winner in the BloombergNEF 2026 Pioneers competition, spotlighting startups accelerating the global energy transition through technological innovation.
While this year, BloombergNEF chose winners addressing three key challenges; technologies for sustainable, scalable data center infrastructure, flattening the duck curve, and decarbonizing shipping and heavy-duty transport , BasiGo was selected in the Wildcard category, recognizing innovations that defy convention and push boundaries. That is exactly what we are doing: proving that Africa can lead the world in affordable, low-carbon public transport.
This recognition belongs to our entire team, investors, partners, and communities who believe that clean transport is not just possible, it is essential.
A huge thank you to BloombergNEF for this honor and for spotlighting the critical role African innovation plays in the global energy transition. Congratulations to the other 2026 Pioneers; it's an honor to be counted among you.

BasiGo has commenced local assembly of its electric vans in Kenya - the Ma3e model, delivering the country's first locally assembled electric vans. In partnership with Associated Vehicle Assemblers (AVA), a leading Kenyan contract manufacturer based in Mombasa, the vans are being built from Complete Knocked Down (CKD) kits, with the first 22 locally built units set for delivery to customers in April and May.
Designed for high-utilisation operations, the Ma3e has a range of up to 300 km (NEDC) and supports a broad set of use cases - including public transport service, school shuttles, corporate staff transport, airport transfers, and hotel shuttle services.
Over the past 10 months, BasiGo has been operating two electric vans on intercity routes, including Nyahururu-Nyeri-Nakuru and Nairobi-Thika. Their strong performance has validated both the product and the operating model, driving a reservation pipeline of over 500 units. Local assembly is now the critical next step to unlock scale of the Ma3e.
Looking ahead, BasiGo plans to deploy thousands of electric vans across Kenya, accelerating the countryโs climate commitments and positioning Kenya as a blueprint for clean, inclusive transport solutions.

We have just reached an important milestone, not just for BasiGo, but for electric mobility in Africa.
Our electric bus project has achieved Gold Standard Certified project status, making it the first verified electric bus carbon project in Africa! We are proud to announce that we are contracting the sale of our first cohort of Gold Standard VERs (Verified Emission Reductions) to Climate Impact Partners , who work with clients committed to climate action and low-carbon transport solutions.
The global carbon market has undergone significant scrutiny over the past few years, yet the carbon market remains a critical tool in helping emerging markets accelerate their energy transition. With over 90% of Kenya's electricity coming from renewable sources, bus electrification in Kenya has greater impact on CO2 emissions than almost anywhere else in the world. Our electric bus project generates emissions reductions that are transparent, traceable, and verifiable by design, backed by on-board telematics that record every kilometer and kilowatt-hour in real time, making our reductions inherently high quality. Beyond CO2 emissions reduction, our electric bus project reduces air pollution, advances energy security, and helps keep transport costs affordable for the public in line with the UN's Sustainable Development Goals.
We thank Gold Standard for recognizing the impact of our project, and we thank Climate Impact Partners for being the first to contract VERs from a bus electrification project in Africa!
As we continue on the , our emissions impact will only continue to grow. We are proud to have set the pace, not just for BasiGo, but for bus electrification projects across the continent.
