Today for , in Pumwani Ward the community led by Ann Itumbi took action by transforming non-recyclable plastic waste into durable . By packing cleaned plastics tightly into bottles, we are diverting single-use waste from our local streets and turning an environmental challenge into a useful building material. We are proud to lead this sustainable movement in our community and show how small individual actions lead to lasting impact.

Wishing you a fantastic and impactful World Cleanup Day!

πŸ•ŠοΈ I Am Peace

From Trauma to Transformation β€” International Peace Day 2026

Every year, the world pauses on 21st September to observe the International Day of Peace β€” a reminder that peace isn't just the absence of conflict, but a deliberate, daily choice we make, individually and collectively.
We invite you to a day dedicated to honest conversation and healing. We live in a society shaped by trauma β€” personal, generational, and communal β€” and true peacebuilding begins when we understand that trauma, name it, and choose to transform it.

I Am Peace: From Trauma to Transformation is our theme because peace within ourselves is the foundation for peace in our homes, schools, communities, and nation.

Yesterday, we were proudly represented by Maggie Mukami and Queen Carol at the Pre-Summit Youth Dialogue on the Trust Summit, themed "Different Contexts, Common Aspirations: Youth Weaving Trust Across the Pillars," held at Serena Hotel.

Margaret and Jane joined young leaders, policymakers, and partners for a day of deep engagement β€” from unpacking how UNSCR 2250 translates into grassroots impact through the Kenya Coalition On Youth, Peace and Security (KCYPS) Sector
to working sessions mapping how declarations move from paper to practice, to conversations on tech-enabled early warning systems and trust-building before, during, and after unrest.

Grateful for the insights they brought back and for KCYPS's Resilience Community , a network of 260 youth organizations , that keeps this work grounded at the community level.
Trust isn't declared. It's built, pathway by pathway.

Empowering Young Minds, Promoting Dignity & Breaking the Silence

We successfully conducted two informative and empowering mentorship sessions reaching 340 young girls and boys , with a strong focus on menstrual hygiene, self-esteem, emotional regulation, and mental health awareness.

The sessions created a safe, inclusive and respectful environment where young people could openly discuss their emotions, understand their self-worth, learn proper menstrual hygiene, and challenge stigma and misconceptions surrounding menstruation.

Through interactive activities such as the Balloon Stress Game, Self-Esteem Money Game and menstrual hygiene myth-busting, participants explored practical ways of managing stress, building confidence and responding to emotional challenges in healthy ways.

We also provided dignity kits to support young people's hygiene needs: Girls received sanitary pads and soap
Boys received soap

Engaging both girls and boys was intentional. Menstrual health should not be a conversation carried by girls alone. Boys also have an important role in promoting respect, understanding, empathy and dignity.

We sincerely appreciate HESED-Africa for their valuable partnership and support in making this outreach possible.

When we equip young people with knowledge, confidence and dignity, we create communities where every learner can thrive without shame or stigma.

Tomorrow, we fast. We fundraise. We stand for peace. As Diplomats For Health In Resilient Community Dfh-Rc volunteers and friends come together for the Initiative ahead of the general elections, we're reminded that peace doesn't just happen β€” it's built, one committed person at a time. This fast is our prayer for our nation; every donation fuels real work on the ground, transforming conflict into dialogue and raising up a new generation of peace builders who will carry this mission long after tomorrow ends. Will you join us? Fast with us. Give what you can. Share this post. Tag a friend who believes in peace as much as you do. Together, we β€” because the future we want starts with what we do today.

Join Us: Fasting & Fundraising for Peace β€” 1st September 2026

Peace is not a given β€” it is built, nurtured, and protected by all of us. As we approach the coming elections, communities across our nation are counting on ordinary citizens, leaders, and organizations to stand firmly for peace. Peacebuilding matters because it is prevention, not just cure β€” it stops conflict before it starts, protects families, and safeguards the futures of our children.

This is why we are calling on you to join our Fasting and Fundraising Initiative for Peace on 1st September 2026.

Fasting is more than going without food β€” it is a discipline that grounds us, clears our minds, and connects us to purpose. It is a holistic practice for our wellbeing: body, mind, and spirit. When we fast for peace, we are making a statement β€” that we are willing to sacrifice something personal for something greater than ourselves.

Jane Mwende has already committed to fasting to support this noble cause. Will you join her?

If fasting isn't right for you, you can still stand with us β€” through prayer, reflection, or a contribution toward our peace fundraiser.
Every voice matters. Every shilling counts. Every prayer strengthens us.

Fast lunch and send Ksh 100 to Paybill 891300 Acc 125041.

Help us train peace ambassadors & promote peaceful communities.
