🐐 Why Every Farmer Should Consider Rearing Goats
Goat farming is one of the most practical and profitable agricultural enterprises for both small-scale and commercial farmers. Goats require relatively low startup capital, adapt well to different climates, and can thrive even in areas with limited grazing resources.
A healthy breeding doe can produce twins, allowing your herd to grow quickly and increasing your income over time. Beyond meat and milk, goats also provide organic manure that improves soil fertility and reduces the need for expensive chemical fertilisers. Their demand remains high throughout the year, making them a reliable source of income for school fees, household expenses, and farm investment.
Success in goat farming begins with choosing quality breeds, providing clean water, proper housing, balanced nutrition, regular vaccination, and effective disease control.
At AgriNest Community Development Initiative (ACDI), we believe empowering farmers with practical knowledge creates stronger livelihoods, healthier communities, and a more food-secure future. Bentex Musembi, AgriNest Community Development Initiative, Nzambani Agrifarms

🐐 Goat Farming: A Small Investment with Big Returns
Goat farming is one of the most profitable and resilient agricultural enterprises for smallholder farmers. Goats require relatively low capital to start, adapt well to different climates, and provide multiple income opportunities through meat, milk, breeding stock, and manure for crop production.
With proper housing, good nutrition, regular deworming, vaccination, and access to clean water, goats can thrive and reproduce quickly, making them an excellent source of sustainable income for rural households.
At AgriNest Community Development Initiative (ACDI), we encourage farmers to integrate livestock with crop farming to improve food security, diversify income, and build climate-resilient livelihoods.
Together, we are empowering communities through smart agriculture and sustainable development.

🌱 Agriculture Students: The Future of Food Security 🌾 Agriculture students may not always be in the spotlight, but one day, the nation's food security will depend on their knowledge.
Every lesson learned in the classroom, every hour spent in the field, and every research project completed today will shape the farms of tomorrow. They are the future agronomists, livestock specialists, agricultural engineers, researchers, and innovators who will help feed our growing population.
As climate change and global food challenges continue to grow, investing in agricultural education is investing in our future. Let's value and support those preparing to nourish communities, strengthen rural livelihoods, and build a more sustainable world.
At AgriNest Community Development Initiative (ACDI), we believe that empowering young agricultural minds is one of the strongest investments we can make for Africa's future.

🌽 Member Spotlight | AgriNest Community Development Initiative (ACDI)
Today we highlight one of our dedicated ACDI members from Eldoret, Kenya, who is demonstrating the importance of timely top dressing in maize production.
Top dressing is a critical practice that provides maize with the nutrients needed during its rapid growth stage. When applied at the right time, preferably at the knee-high stage and when the soil has adequate moisture, it promotes vigorous plant growth, stronger stems, and higher grain yields.
Through our network, ACDI continues to encourage farmers to adopt modern, climate-smart farming practices that improve productivity and strengthen food security.
We celebrate every farmer who is committed to learning, innovating, and feeding our communities.

🌽 Farmer Spotlight: Growing with Purpose
This is one of the farms within our ACDI network, where a dedicated farmer is cultivating 5 acres of maize under a drip irrigation system. By adopting efficient irrigation, the farm is using water more wisely, improving crop health, and building resilience against changing weather conditions.

At AgriNest Community Development Initiative (ACDI), we believe that supporting farmers to embrace climate-smart agriculture is a step towards stronger communities, improved food security, and sustainable livelihoods.

Every successful farm inspires another. Together, we are planting today for a better tomorrow.

MAIZE YIELD BOOST. Most farmers in Kenya harvest less maize than their land can produce. The problem is not land. It is spacing and fertilizer timing.
Simple fix:
Plant seeds 75cm apart between rows
Apply top dressing when maize is knee-high
W**d early before 3 weeks
Question: How many bags of maize do you harvest per acre? Poultry Farming Good Morning Everyone
