Ndindi Nyoro started his education at Gathukeini Primary School in Murang'a County from 1991 to 1999. He sat for his Kenya Certificate of Primary Education in 1999. Life was very difficult for his family. At only twelve years old he started running a small village kiosk to earn money. He wanted to help his parents and buy his own school needs. His father later told him to stop the business and concentrate fully on his books. He listened and worked very hard in class despite poverty.

He joined Kiambugi Boys Secondary School from 2000 to 2003 and sat for his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education in 2003. He had qualified for Kiaguthu Boys but lacked school fees, so he chose Kiambugi because it allowed payment in installments. During holidays he survived by repairing shoes, burning charcoal, and selling second-hand clothes to support himself and his family. Despite many challenges, he never gave up. In 2003 he became the only student in his school to attain a direct university entry grade, proving that hard work and determination can overcome severe poverty. His story still inspires many young Kenyans today.
