Tucked inside the guestrooms of Mandarin Oriental Downtown, Dubai, this bespoke minibar drawer brings a flash of burnt orange to the darker tones of the interior - giving every part of the ritual its own place, from morning coffee to an evening pour.

A little colour, and a lot of order, behind closed doors.

Rich red leather sits against carved timber and warm tonal layers, allowing a simple table essential to become part of the wider interior composition.

Bespoke OS&E, considered in context.

Before dimensions, materials, and prototypes, there is an idea on paper.

Sketching allows us to explore freely - proportion, form, function, and the small details that might eventually define an object.

Some lines disappear. Others become things we make.

For us, bespoke is not about designing objects in isolation.

It is about carrying the language of an interior into every guest touchpoint - translating its materials, proportions, and character into objects made to belong.

Opening this week on the shores of the Red Sea, Rosewood Amaala marks the arrival of one of the Kingdom’s most anticipated new destinations, and we are proud to have played a part in bringing it to life.

BAAL partnered with the project on the development of bespoke OS&E for the guestrooms, working within a design language shaped by the surrounding landscape, its warm natural tones, tactile materials, and quiet connection between desert and sea.
