“For me, Inaash is living heritage.”
It carries history, archives, and deep emotional connection to Palestinian embroidery, but it doesn’t stay still. It evolves through every hand that touches it, every generation that joins it, and every collaboration that reshapes it in a new way.
What keeps it alive is simple: it is shared, passed on, and constantly reimagined while staying rooted in its origins.

يحمل تاريخًا وأرشيفًا وارتباطًا عاطفيًا عميقًا بالتطريز الفلسطيني, لكنه لا يبقى ثابتًا. بل يتطوّر مع كل يد تلمسه، وكل جيل ينضم إليه، وكل تعاون يعيد تشكيله بطريقة جديدة.
ما يبقيه حيًّا بسيط: أنه يُشارك، ويُورَّث، ويُعاد تخيّله باستمرار مع بقائه متجذرًا في أصله.

Weaving the Land Back خيوط العودة, by Palestinian textile artist Areen Hassan, has been awarded the Public Award by the Institut du Monde Arabe (Arab World Institute), Paris.
Commissioned by 1971 – Design Space, Sharjah, UAE, the work was presented as part of the exhibition Sila : All That Is Left to You, held at Maraya Art Centre, Sharjah, UAE, in 2025.
The embroidery layer was created in collaboration with the women of Inaash.
The exhibition was curated by Cima Azzam and Noor Suhail, and founded by Rula Alami.

“I don’t feel like everything has to be fully embroidered all the time.”
For Joumana Ghandour, the process is not about filling everything with motifs, it’s about thinking through color, fabric, and pattern with intention. Creation happens in focus, not in excess.
And then, later, when she looks back at the work, there is pride. Not in the sense of its importance, but in what was quietly achieved.
What matters most is simple: knowing people live with it, and it becomes part of their homes.
“لا أشعر أن كل شيء يجب أن يكون مطرّزًا طوال الوقت.”
بالنسبة لجمانة غندور، العملية ليست في ملء كل شيء بالنقوش، بل في التفكير باللون والقماش والنقشة بنية ووعي. الإبداع يحدث في التركيز، لا في المبالغة.
ثم لاحقًا، عندما تنظر إلى ما تم إنجازه، يكون هناك فخر, ليس بفكرة الدور أو الأهمية، بل بما صُنع بهدوء.
الأهم ببساطة: أن يعيش الناس مع هذه القطع، وأن تصبح جزءًا من بيوتهم.
