Today, the global community is reviewing – Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure at the High-level Political Forum on Sustainable Development.
As the United Nations custodian agency for six of SDG 9 indicators, is helping shape the discussion on how industrialization can accelerate progress across the 2030 Agenda.
SDG 9 also supports progress on other Sustainable Development Goals under review - SDG 6 on clean water and sanitation, SDG 7 on affordable and clean energy, SDG 11 on sustainable cities, and SDG 17 on partnerships for the Goals.
Industry, innovation and resilient infrastructure are the foundations of sustainable development. They drive productivity, create jobs, strengthen resilience and support the clean energy transition. Yet, progress remains uneven, with many countries still facing persistent gaps in infrastructure, technology and financing.
Moderated by UNIDO’s Deputy to the Director General and Managing Director Fatou Haidara, today's session brings together global leaders to explore the policies and partnerships needed to accelerate inclusive and sustainable industrial development.
