Thank you for stopping by and welcome to Avoura formerly known as Meraki by Sumi. Well I have grown over the years so I decided to pick a name that would grow with me as I take my artistry to greater heights. With Avoura I stand for doing everything that I love with creativity, love and pure soul. I want to leave a little piece of myself in the work that I do. I feel that in my line of work I end up leaving a little bit of my soul with everyone I interact with and that interaction is very precious to me. It inspires me to be a better artist than I was yesterday. I have always gravitated towards art and beauty from a very young age and since then I have been involved in every aspect of art and makeup was one of them. I look at skin like a blank canvas waiting for a story to be painted on it. What I love most about beauty is how easy it is to bond with people through it. Ever notice the conversations you have with your makeup artist or friends when doing your makeup? Making friends is easier when lipstick is involved. Whether you are a makeup ju**ie or a newbie to makeup I find that beauty is about empowering and taking charge of how we want to be seen by the world. Make up lets me be a part of huge life changing moments. I would love for you to join me as I embark upon this wonderful journey. Let me walk you through the wonderful world of makeup as I show you how amazing and powerful makeup can be. It is more than just makeup, it is art. Since Avoura is still in its baby steps please bear with me till I work on more content. The website is up yet, but I plan on updating it with more content and you can expect blog posts from me where I will share my two cents on anything related to beauty. Please tap on the video to watch in full screen. The first look I did on the beautiful Asma (Mashallah) for her Mehendi Ceremony. I have had the pleasure of dressing Asma for her engagement as well and I have to say I’m always mind blown by her creativity and how daring she is with the looks she goes for. Loving all the bright colours she went for and I love when my brides aren’t afraid to step outside the box and go for something different. We went for a colourful eye makeup look with vibrant gradient orange, yellow, purple and a touch of violet glitter and pink lips because this is a mehendi after all and Mehendi functions are the perfect event to let lose and try out some fun looks. We opted for beautiful flowers that the bride carefully colour matched to her outfit and went with an effortless half up half down hair because she was supposed to be dancing and we wanted her hair to flow beautifully as she dances, which you can see we accomplished in the parts of the video where she’s twirling and the hair looks so beautiful 🙊 I hope you guys love this look just as much as I do ❤️

Regal ⚜️ I’ve always wanted to do a Sabyasachi inspired bridal shoot but to attempt to do such a shoot with so much intricate detail would have been hard for me to pull off, so glad I was able to dress the most beautiful bride ever Mashallah, who envisioned herself being a Sabyasachi bride. Everything came so beautifully together.
