Light

Sri Lankan society is an increasingly progressive one, however one pertinent issue is still kept in the dark: mental health, and Light aims to change that. Noticing that mental health is ridiculed, dismissed and neglected; the depressed are condoned, the suicidal are shunned and the bipolar are claimed mythical, Light is a youth led initiative that hopes to:

• Combat the stigma surrounding mental health spreading awareness and starting a productive conversation.
• Provide education and support to those who suffer from mental illness
• Donate and provide financial aid and support to better currently existing mental health care institutions
