The Largest youth organization at University of Colombo 💙
Colombo beacon provides the youngsters, with great opportunities to unveil their passions and present them to a global audience allowing them to gain recognition and achieve the ultimate goals of their lives. And it is an organization, open to anyone in the University of Colombo despite the faculty they are in, additionally Colombo Beacon holds pride for being the only media-related youth organization in UOC which is open to students of all the faculties. Our purpose is to become a beacon of hope that will assist young generation to navigate toward the destination of their success.

The ozone layer is Earth’s quiet shield, protecting life beneath it. 🌍☁️
Every year on September 16, we observe World Ozone Day to raise awareness about the importance of protecting our atmosphere and preserving the ozone layer for generations to come.
The 2026 theme, “From Science to Global Action,” highlights the power of scientific knowledge, international cooperation, and collective action in safeguarding our planet.
The day commemorates the signing of the Montreal Protocol in 1987, a landmark international agreement to protect the ozone layer from harmful substances.
This World Ozone Day, let us remember that protecting the sky above us is protecting life below. 💙

•යටත්වැසිභාවයෙන් මිදුණු පුරවැසියාගේ නොනිමි හඩේ ප්රතිභාව ප්රජාතන්ත්රවාදයයි.
* ප්රජාතන්ත්රවාදය වූ කලී හුදෙක් ම දේශපාලන සංස්කෘතියක් පමණක් නොව දේශපාලන භාවිතයකි. සාමාන්ය ජනතාව තවදුරටත් නූගතෙක්, විචාරශීලි බුද්ධියක් නොමැති අක්රීය යටත්වැසියෙකු නොවේ. ඔවුන් විචාරශීලී සක්රීය පුරවැසියෙකු බව පිලිගත් මතවාදය ප්රජාතන්ත්රවාදයයි.
අපගේ මුතුන් මිත්තන් විසින් ලේ වගුරුවමින්. සටන් කරමින්. ධනපති පන්තියේ ආභරණයක් පමණක් වූ ඡන්ද අයිතිය ඇතුලු මූලික මිනිස් අයිතිවාසිකම් ආදීය දිනාගන්නට ඔවුන් කැපවිය.
දේශපාලනය තුළ අපට හිමිවූ නොනිමි, නිදහස් දායාදය වූ කලී ප්රජාතන්ත්රවාදයයි.
ප්රජාතන්ත්රවාදය දිගුකල් දිනේවා!

සාක්ෂරතාවය යනු හුදෙක් අකුරු කියවීමට හෝ ලිවීමට පමණක් සීමා වූවක් නොවේ. එය මිනිසෙකුට තම අයිතිවාසිකම් දිනා ගැනීමටත්, මුළු ලෝකයම ජය ගැනීමටත් මඟ පාදන බලගතුම මෙවලමයි. නොදැනුවත්කමේ අන්ධකාරයෙන් මිදී, ප්රඥාවේ ආලෝකය කරා පියනඟන ස්වාධීන හා නිදහස් චින්තකයින් බිහිවන්නේ සාක්ෂරතාවයෙන් පිරිපුන් සමාජයකිනි.
