දහස් ගණනක් අසරණ මිනිසුන්ගේ පිළිකා සෛල පරදවා ජීවිතය දුන් ඒ උතුම් දෑත්, අද තමන්ගේම හුස්ම වෙනුවෙන් පවුලේ අයත් එක්ක එකතු වෙලා තවමත් නිහඬ මහා සටනක! ❤🩺🇱🇰

වෛද්‍ය වෘත්තිය කියන්නේ හුදෙක් මුදලට හෝ වරප්‍රසාදවලට සීමා වූ සාමාන්‍ය රැකියාවක් නෙවෙයි; ඒක මිනිස් ජීවිත වෙනුවෙන් මුළු ආත්මයම දියකර හරින උත්තරීතර මානුෂීය මෙහෙවරක් බව ක්‍රියාවෙන්ම ඔප්පු කළ අපූරු මනුෂ්‍යයෙකි සායනික පිළිකා රෝග පිළිබඳ විශේෂඥ වෛද්‍ය ලක්ෂාන් අබේනායක (Dr. Lakshan Abenayake). 1982 ජූනි 8 වන දින උපත ලබා, කොළඹ ශාන්ත ජෝශප් විද්‍යාලයෙන් මූලික අධ්‍යාපනය ලබා, ලන්ඩනයේ රාජකීය විකිරණවේදීන්ගේ විද්‍යාලය (Royal College of Radiologists, London) සහ Royal College of Physicians හරහා ඉහළම ජාත්‍යන්තර වෘත්තීය සුදුසුකම් සපුරා තිබූ ඔහුට, ඕනෑම රටකට ගොස් අති සුඛෝපභෝගී ජීවිතයක් ගත කිරීමට ඕනෑ තරම් ඉඩකඩ තිබිණි. නමුත් ඔහු තෝරාගත්තේ තමන්ගේ මව්බිමේ අසරණ පිළිකා රෝගීන් ළඟ නතර වීමේ දුෂ්කර මාවතයි.

බදුල්ල පළාත් මහ රෝහල සහ මඩකලපුව ශික්ෂණ රෝහල වැනි දුෂ්කර පළාත්වල සේවය කරමින් ඔහු දැක්වූ කැපවීම සැබවින්ම අසීමිතයි. සේවයේ නිරතව සිටි මුළු කාලය පුරා කිසිදු දිනක පෞද්ගලික වෛද්‍ය සේවයේ (Private Practice) නොයෙදුණු ඔහු, කොළඹ සිට බදුල්ලට ගියේ පොදු බස් රථයෙනි; මඩකලපුවට ගියේ දුම්රියෙනි. වකුගඩු හෝ මුත්‍රාශය වැනි අත්‍යවශ්‍ය අවයව ඉවත් කිරීමට වෙනත් වෛද්‍ය නිර්දේශ ලැබී අසරණව සිටි බරපතළ පිළිකා රෝගීන් පවා කිසිදු අවයවයකට හානියක් නොකර, සියයට අනූවක සුව කිරීමේ බලාපොරොත්තුවක් දෙමින් ජීවිත රැකදුන්නේ ඔහුගේ සුවිශේෂී සායනික දැනුම සහ කරුණාවන්ත මැදිහත්වීම නිසාවෙනි. රෝගීන් ඕනෑම මොහොතක දුරකථනයෙන් අමතා රෝග දුක් පැවසුවද නොපැකිළිව සවන් දුන් ඔහු, ඇතැම් අවස්ථාවලදී තමන්ගේම පෞද්ගලික මුදල් වියදම් කරමින් දුප්පත් රෝගීන්ට බෙහෙත් හේත් පවා අරන් දුන් සැබෑම බෝධිසත්වයෙකි.

කඳු තරණයට, මලල ක්‍රීඩාවට, ස්වභාවධර්මයට සහ පැරණි ජීප් රථ ධාවනයට දැඩි ලැදියාවක් දැක්වූ මෙම දක්ෂ වෛද්‍යවරයා, 2024 මාර්තු 24 වන දින කිසිවකු ළඟ නොමැති මොහොතක ව්‍යායාම කරමින් සිටියදී හදිසියේ ඇද වැටී දැඩි ලෙස රෝගාතුර විය. මොළයේ ක්‍රියාකාරිත්වයට එල්ල වූ එම බරපතළ කම්පනය හේතුවෙන් ඔහු දීර්ඝ කාලයක් දැඩි සත්කාර ඒකකයේ කෝමා (Coma) තත්ත්වයේ පසුවිය.

කෙසේ වෙතත්, පවුලේ අය සහ සමීපතමයන් කළ නිල යාවත්කාලීන කිරීමට අනුව (Family Update), ඔහු දැන් පූර්ණ කෝමා හෝ ශාකමය තත්ත්වයෙන් (Vegetative State) මිදී, අවම සිහිසුන් මට්ටමකට (Minimal Conscious State) පැමිණ ප්‍රතිකාර හා පුනරුත්ථාපන (Rehabilitation) ලබමින් සිටියි. කෙසේ වෙතත් ඔහුට තවමත් කතා කිරීමට හෝ වචන ගැළපීමට නොහැකි අතර, විශේෂ වෛද්‍ය අධීක්ෂණය යටතේ පෞද්ගලික සාත්තු සත්කාර වෙනුවෙන් මසකට රුපියල් ලක්ෂ තුනකට අධික මුදලක් වැය වන බව පවුලේ ආරංචි මාර්ග තහවුරු කරයි.

ඔහුගේ ආදරණීය මව, ආදරණීය දියණිය ඇතුළු මුළු පවුලම ඔහු වෙනුවෙන් දිනපතා දහස් වරක් සෙත් පතද්දී, රටක් සුවපත් කළ ඒ උතුම් වෛද්‍යවරයා වෙනුවෙන් පවුලේ අනුමැතිය ඇතිව පිහිටුවා ඇති නිල භාර අරමුදලට සහ සම්බන්ධතා තොරතුරු මෙසේ සටහන් කරමු:

The funeral service will be held on Thursday, 20th August 2026 at 3.00 PM, followed by the burial at St. Peter and Paul Church Cemetery, Ragama.
