අප අපගේ කලාකෘතිය නැරඹීම සදහා විවෘත කොට තිබේ.

ඊට පෙරද මෙය මුහුදුට අභිමුඛ විවෘත අවකාශයකි. නමුත් පසුගිය 7 වැනි අගහරුවාදා ‘විවෘත කිරීම’ යනු අපි අපගේ ක්‍රියාවලිය අවසන් කළ බවට දැනුම් දීමයි. පහත ඇත්තේ අපි ආරාධනා කළ පිරිසක් සමග එක්ව අපි ඊට සම්බන්ධ වූ ඡායාරූපයි.

නමුත් ඔබට ඕනෑම මොහොතක ඕනෑම මාර්ගයකින් මෙම ගොඩනැගිල්ලට ඇතුළු විය හැකිය. එය අපිට අයිති දෙයක් නොවේ.

අලවා ඇති රූප සියල්ල ඡායාරූප කොටස් ය. අපගේ ඡායාරූප, memories of the ordinary ඡායාරූප එකතුවෙන්, කෞෂල්‍යා නන්දසේනගේ මැහවැලි සංරක්ෂණ ඡායාරූප එකතුවෙන්, අන්තර්ජාලයෙන්, සමාජ මාධ්‍ය වලින් සහ සොහොන් කොත්වලින් නැවත ග්‍රහණය කරගත් ඡායාරූපයි.

ඒවා රාමු තුළින්, පිටතින්, බිත්තියට ඉහළින් සහ මුහුද වෙත ගොස් විවිධ ලෙස දැකිය හැකිය. මෙය දැකීමට කරන උත්සාහය පහසු කාර්‍යයක් නොවනු ඇත. කලාගාරයකට ගොස් පිළිවෙළක් සහිතව බැලිය හැකි ඡායාරූප ප්‍රදර්ශනයක් මෙන් මෙය අත්විදිය නොහැකිය. මෙය අසීරුය, අපහසුය, අනාරෂිතය. ගොඩනැගිල්ල එක් කෙළවරක හමුවන ඡායාරූපවල සිට තටාකයේ පාවෙන සොහොන් කොතක ඡායාරූපය තෙක් ඇවිද ගොස් නැරඹිය යුතුය. මෙහි කලා කෘතියේ ප්‍රදර්ශන කාලය නිශ්චිත නැත. එය දීර්ඝකාලයක් හෝ ඉතාම සුළු කාලයක් පැවතීමට ඉඩ තිබේ. අපි නොදන්නා දේ එයයි. එම ගොඩනැගිල්ලේ හිමිකාරිත්වය හෝ අනාගතය කෙසේ වනු ඇතිද යන්න අපි නොදනිමු. කාල පරාසය අනිශ්චිතය. එබැවින් අපගේ දෘෂ්‍ය ලෝකය, කලාත්මක සිතීම මේ මොහොතේ එම අවකාශයට ගොස් අත්විදින්න යැයි අපි ආරාධනා කරමු.

Our artwork is now open for viewing.

Even before this, the site was an open space facing the sea. However, the opening held on Tuesday the 7th marked the completion of our process and our decision to make that process public. The photographs below document the moment we shared the work with those we invited.

You may visit the building at any time and enter from any direction. It is not a space that belongs to us.

All of the images installed there are photographic fragments. They are drawn from our own photographs, the Memories of the Ordinary photographic archive, Kaushalya Nandasena’s Mahaweli Conservation photographic collection, as well as photographs reappropriated from the internet, social media, and cemetery headstones.

These images can be encountered in many different ways—within frames, outside them, above the walls, and even from the direction of the sea. Seeing this work will not be an easy experience. It cannot be approached like a conventional gallery exhibition, where photographs are viewed in an orderly sequence. It is difficult, uncomfortable, and uncertain.

The work must be experienced by walking through the building—from the photographs encountered at one end of the structure to the photograph of a floating gravestone in the pool.

There is no fixed exhibition period for this work. It may remain for a long time, or disappear very soon. That uncertainty is something we ourselves do not know. We do not know what will happen to the building, who will own it, or what its future will be. The duration of the work is indeterminate.

For that reason, we invite you to visit this space now and experience our visual world and artistic thinking while it exists in this moment.

නොම්බර 10, මැරීන් ඩ්‍රයිව්, කොළඹ 06 (වැල්ලවත්ත දුම්රිය ස්ථානය අසල) ලිපිනය සහිත ගොඩනැගිල්ල අපගේ නව කලා නිර්මාණයයි. මෙම ලිපිනයට පැමිණ ගොඩනැගිල්ලට ඇතුළු වූ පසු අපගේ කලාත්මක සිතීමට ඔබ ඇතුල්වෙයි. ඔබ එහි කොටස්කරුවෙකි. ඉන් පසු අහසට විවෘත බිත්ති අතරත්, මුහුද වෙරළට පෙනෙන බිත්ති අතරත්, ඇතුළු කාමරවල මුළුඅතරත්, ඔබ ඇවිද යන විට ඔබගේ කුඩා දෙපාවලට පෑගෙන කැඩුණු බිඳුණු දේ අතරත්, තටාකයේ වතුරේත් ඡායාරූප ඔබට හමුවෙයි. මෙය සියළු මිනිසුන්ට ඕනෑම මොහොතක ඇතුළු විය අනාරක්ෂිත විවෘත ගොඩනැගිල්ලකි. මෙහි පැවැත්ම, ඡායාරූපය සහ අපගේ කලාත්මක සිතීම කුමක්ද යන්න පරීක්ෂා කරගැනීමට අපි උත්සාහ කරමු. එහෙයින් මෙය අත් හදා බැලීමකි සහ පර්‍යේෂණාත්මක කාර්‍යයකි. මේ සම්බන්ධයෙන් අපගේ කලාත්මක සිතීම කුමක්ද යන්න අපි ඉදිරියේ දී ප්‍රකාශ කිරීමට උත්සාහ කරමු.

මෙය කලා නිර්මාණයක් ලෙස නම් කළ හැක්කේ “කලාව” හා සම්බන්ධව කටයුතු කරන සියලු මිනිසුන්ගේ කථිකාව තුළ බව අපි විශ්වාස කරමු. 2026 ජූලි 07 වැනි දින ප.ව. 4ට විශේෂයෙන් පැමිණෙන්න යැයි අපි ඔබට ආරාධනා කරමු.

“Sorrow spreads under the dark sky”

No. 10, Marine Drive, Colombo 06 (near Wellawatte Railway Station) is the site of our new artwork by entering this building, you enter our artistic intervention. You become a participant within it.Throughout the space between walls open to the sky, walls facing the sea, within its interior rooms, among the broken remains beneath your feet, and in the water of the pool you will encounter photographs.
This is an open and unprotected building, accessible to anyone at any time. Through the building itself, the photographs, and our intervention within the space, we seek to examine the possibilities of existence,photography, art, and artistic thought. As such, this project is an experimental provisional and exploratory gesture.
We do not claim to define what this work is. Rather, we believe that it can become an artwork only through the conversations, interpretations, and encounters of those who engage with it.

We therefore invite you to join us on 7 July 2026 at 4:00 PM.Your reading of this intervention, your presence, reflections, and responses will become part of our ongoing inquiry into the nature of art and its existence.
