MWArchitectS

We are an architectural and design practice in Sri Lanka that visualizes the built environment as place making and affords rather a slow toned cool architecture. Mohan Wijayaratna, principle Architect of MW ArchitectS is a Chartered Architect and an Associate member of the Sri Lanka Institute of Architects. He studied Architecture at the University of Moratuwa, Sri Lanka and is practicing Architecture since 2002 in Colombo, Sri Lanka. The philosophy of the practice believes that in a world of limited resources paring down to the essentials can bring unique places with value at home, community and environment. It results in simple forms, “honest” or unselfconscious use of materials and details minimum required for the place making. A thinking attitude reflecting client’s imperatives, countries’ context, available technology and everyday operational problems to arrive at creative solutions with economy and simplicity.
