Northumbria University has just been ranked among the most sustainable universities on the planet and we couldn't be more proud. 🌍 💚

Northumbria has been ranked 31st in the world for sustainability in the new Times Higher Education Impact Rankings. This is our highest ever position, and places us among the very best universities on the planet for advancing the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. What makes this an even more impressive achievement is that Northumbria was assessed against more than 1,600 institutions across 116 countries.

We ranked 3rd in the world for Responsible Consumption and Production, recognising initiatives like our OLIO food-sharing scheme and Too Good to Go partnership. We also ranked 4th globally for Life on Land, and climbed an impressive 57 places to 16th in the world for Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions. We’re delighted to be the 4th best ranked university in the UK overall.

Sustainability at Northumbria is truly built into our daily research, teaching and campus operations - huge credit to every member of staff and every student helping to drive this forward. 👏
