The Port of Colombo has reached a significant milestone, 𝗰𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗯𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟮𝟲𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗼 𝟮𝟬𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗺𝗼𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱’𝘀 𝗺𝗮𝗷𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿 𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀. Together with the handling of an impressive amount of 4.44 million TEUs during the first half of 2026, it marked a record of an 11.9% year on year increase.

This strong performance builds upon Colombo Port’s record on year 2025 and further reinforces its role as a strategic Indian Ocean transshipment hub, connecting major trade routes across Asia, Middle East, Africa and Europe.

𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗗𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗧𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗠𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗙𝗼𝗿 𝗖𝗼𝗹𝗼𝗺𝗯𝗼?

𝙃𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙚𝙧 𝙏𝙝𝙧𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙥𝙪𝙩 : 4.44 million TEUs handled in just six months demonstrates the continued growth of Colombo Port’s container business.
