The Ministry of Health (MoH) today hosted the official ribbon-cutting ceremony for the newly constructed staff quarters at Arthington Clinic in Lower Virginia, Montserrado County.

The ceremony was led by the Chief Medical Officer of the Republic of Liberia, Dr. Catherine T. Cooper, and brought together local authorities, health officials, community leaders, and residents to celebrate the completion of the project.

The newly furnished staff quarters consist of a duplex with three bedrooms in each unit. Constructed by the Ministry of Health, the facility is designed to provide safe and comfortable accommodation for healthcare workers serving at Arthington Clinic.

Breaking News🚨
The first 17 of 29 Liberians who requested voluntary repatriation from South Africa amid recent xenophobic attacks have arrived in the country through the Roberts International Airport.

The returnees were received by a team from the Liberia Refugee Repatriation and Resettlement Commission, LRRRC, headed by its Executive Director, Cllr. Jerror Cole Bangalu.

Welcoming the returnees on behalf of the Government of Liberia and President Joseph Nyuma Boakai, Cllr. Bangalu said all modalities are being worked out to ensure the returnees are reunited with their families and properly integrated back into Liberian society.
He disclosed that others are expected to be brought back as arrangements continue.

One of the returnees, Alexander Saytonneh, expressed happiness to be back home, saying they were distressed while in Durban, South Africa, which he described as one of the cities affected by the recent attacks.

Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung has been awarded an Honorary Doctor of Humane Letters (LHD, Honoris Causa) by Cuttington University during its 64th Commencement Ceremony.

The prestigious academic honor was conferred upon the Vice President on the university's main campus in Suakoko, B**g County, where he also served as the keynote commencement speaker to an audience of over 1,000 graduates, university faculty, and state dignitaries.

Vice President Jeremiah Kpan Koung, Sr. received a high-level diplomatic delegation from the United States Embassy on Monday, June 22, 2026. The courtesy visit took place at the Vice President's office within the Capitol Building in Monrovia.

The visiting American delegation was headed by U.S. Chargé d’Affaires Joseph Zadrozny. The discussions centered primarily on enhancing long-standing Liberia–U.S. relations and strengthening diplomatic cooperation between the two nations.
