Today at the failed Unity Party "Green Day" program, , Deputy Director for Operations at the National Transit Authority, spoke to partisans.

He said: "We will not give every Unity Party partisan a job in government, and not everyone will work in government. But we will make the party headquarters busy for you to come and be there signing and dancing."

Was this speech necessary? What’s your take?

Brussels Airlines reportedly took out VP Jeremiah Koung’s clothes and searched him.

Many say this happened because of all the Unity Party officials’ names being mentioned lately in connection to the drug case. Internationally, people are already linking this government to drug cartels, and videos are being used as “evidence from the cartel.”

To see our VP embarrassed like this abroad is painful and worrisome for Liberia.

How did we get here?

I read my dear lovely friend Jalieba’s (a leading UP strategist) analysis on ongoing opposition collaboration.

He so spectacularly, completely missed the point making his suggestions wholly fundementally problematic. The warning signs on the dashboard are been completely ignored here.

Surprise! Surprise! Such missing of the mark is always a sweet prelude to catastrophic defeats, to political car crashes. I will drop a few reminders below in bullet:

1. The electoral health of any government or ruling party is always fully known half-way on its constitutional journey.

2. With UP halfway in its 6years tenure, hold elections today, UP is losing by over 50,000 votes margin

3. The ruling party’s position is currently very shaky. It has the least electoral credit in the bank ever-20,000 votes. That credit in the bank is gone! Spent! UP's bank account is reading red.

4. I give you a classic example! The CDC established a 200,000-and change vote credit balance with the UP in 2017. Weah and Joe were a country mile apart by over 200,000 votes. Through the combination of car crash policies, relentless opposition propaganda and series of own goals, like Ice cream in the sun, weah depleted his savings. His margin narrowed and subsequently fizzled out by 2023

5. A populist celebrity Weah averaged 40,000 vote loss a year and because UP carries a little bit of swag to their game, theirs has been a more of a slow motion. If Weah could wholly bleed away 0ver 200,000 votes in just 6 years, tell me how long it’s going to take for UP to throw away a narrow 20,000 votes margin in the face of mass joblessness, Ngafuan’s car crash economic program that stifles government spending , opposition harassment, and a massive Co***ne scandal? If you na geh plenty children, don't join witch is the case with the Unity party.

6. For all ruling parties, unemployment/ joblessness is ultimately the perfect destroyer of electoral advantage. Relentless levels of economic hardship, mass poverty amongst Liberians left unresolved always send ruling parties to their early political graves. Is the UP any different? My answer is a big no. Has the UP expand; modernize the economy at degrees that is creating hundreds of thousands of jobs currently? The answer is No! Infact, every succeeding year further compound the misery young people feel daily as a result of little to no new opportunities in the labor market.

7. The question then is, Ellen achieved two terms. How come then? Your theory must surely be wrong headed one may argue. Firstly, since the end of the Liberian civil war, the healthiest the Liberian economy has ever been was under Ellen not entirely so much because of any genius economic policy, but by default of a thriving NGO economy.

She became an aid darling. We witnessed an explosion of economic activities-services sector, restaurants, transportation services, real estate due to the vast UN presence including investment in banking, mining plus a way less population than now i.e some 20 years later. The population demand on public services has about doubled today at a time Sam Jackson’s proverbial Mawatta and Ma klubo and her children have no jobs and no decent income to contribute to national wealth.

8. Secondly, Ellen bypassed the momentous challenges of the economy to accelerate her political advantage by building a broad church of Liberians across seemingly conflicting suasions something the current Unity party has so miserably failed to achieve. The current Unity Party is on record as the most divisive, vindictive political arrangement since post war Liberia in the face of the narrowest of political electoral mandate at the same time insanely electing to 'join witch when they nah geh plenty children'. From political persecution and harassment of former government officials to vicious targeting of business interest of leading opposition figures like Musa Bility, to unleashing attack dogs on coalition partners like Amara Konneh, to funding expulsion of big rescue supporters and crowd movers like Yekeh Koluba. If you are not a UP-alliance member, you are dead in the waters! That seems to be the policy.

9. Therefore, I'll suggest that the UP is the Chief Recruitment Sergeant for the opposition. Pushing significant voting blocs into its fold and helping it accumulate incredible vibrancy, lately. The Unity party has only two pathways to victory in 2029. Either you pulled out an economic miracle by accelerating us towards full employment which is essentially a pipe dream due to the absence of the structural fundamentals required to achieve such a momentous feat in which case you are able to persuade opposition voters to abandon their camps in favor of the sweet ingredients of economic success, or you caste a wider net like Ellen Sirleaf striking a deal with the opposition for an opportunity to extend your programs beyond 2029. Even with the 2nd option I wonder if all bridges have not already been burned with 50% of the tenure already spent.

10. I am not CDC. I am CMC and I support Musa for President. But I see a laughable myth circulating within UP Alliance cycle that Liberians can never vote Weah for President again due to what they considered an appalling 6 years performance b/w 2018 to 2023. This is a self-delusion! Weah may or may not win in 2029 but to argue that he has no chance of a comeback to the Presidency is to broadcast ignorance. Liberians have a history of forgiving their leaders. They forgave Taylor and made him president. They forgave Ellen sins from the war and made her President twice. They forgave UP in 2023 though the party left Liberia underdeveloped after 12 years. And you think the Liberian people can’t forgive Weah and bring him back to power? This is laughable! I am not Christian. But Liberians are very good Christians who took Jesus (the wondering philosopher from Galilea) teaching to their heart to forgive 70 times 7.

11. People need to understand that presidential elections are not about scrutiny of opposing parties to the ruling party. No! Senator Dillon is the only member of the UP alliance who seems to understand this secret. I listened to his recent podcast. He showed genius. Presidential elections are entirely a nationwide YES or NO referendum on the performance of the party at the helm power. Period! From a strategy perspective, Opposition parties simply need to tardy up and put their acts together and patiently wait in the ranks with a message to move the masses by selling them a new alternative promise. Voters will look at their economic lives after 6 years, asked themselves practical questions, despondent and frustrated over the government performance will turn around for an alternative. There and then the opposition can pounce. Opposition job is therefore very, very easy. And with the UP over promising on the economy and currently under delivering, I can bet my bottom dollar that the conversation between them and the Liberian people in 2029 will end up in acrimony.

12. UP says they have 3 more years. Wrong! They may be mathematically correct, but howbeit politically wrong. In politics the law of physics jumps leaps and bounds. They actually have 12 more months. January 2028 is the curtain raiser to 2029. Polling day will be 18 months to the day. And since politics in Liberia is the only real trade in town the music has already started. Additionally, more years is not a political advantage for the UP as the challenges of today always exponentially compounds as night follows day in a country so acutely resource challenged as ours. Succeeding years to 2029 is always to the benefit of the opposition. The first half of the tenure is always the glory days of sunshine for the ruling party. This is when the opposition is weak, lazy and lethargic. But this 3 years of sun shine was wasted away by the UP with the co***ne scandal, border dispute with Guinea, opposition targeting under the false ruse of fighting corruption and weak economic progress for Ma Bendu and Ma Yonoway.

13. Lastly, Jaleiba argued that the potential coming together of the opposition bloc will end in catastrophic failure because as he said, CDC proved to be incapable of keeping coalition promises last time round. That may be true, but people are learning fast. Senator McGill during Weah recent return told journalist that the CDC has learned her lessons. The same way JNB learned his lessons from 2017, dropped the hard line and remarked in Careyburg that he is prepare to dance with the devil, why should anyone believe similar 360 degree turn-around is not possible with the CDC especially when the stakes are high in the face of ongoing UP harassment of its rank and file. Pinning UP reelection strategy on the disintegration of the opposition is a recipe for electoral disaster.

Human Rights Still Heavily Violated in Liberia...

The Independent National Commission on Human Rights (INCHR) says police brutality, unlawful detention, restrictions on peaceful assembly, and interference with journalists remain major human rights violations in Liberia.

In its 2025 Annual Human Rights Situation Report, the Commission documented allegations of excessive use of force, arbitrary arrests, and prolonged detention.

INCHR also reported incidents involving journalists, including the alleged manhandling of a BBC Liberia correspondent by police and the alleged assault of a New Republic editor, whose phone was reportedly seized and photographs deleted.

The Commission said police also restricted protesters during the July 2025 “Enough is Enough” demonstration by declaring the Executive Mansion and Capitol Building “no-go zones.”

In Harrisburg, Montserrado County, police reportedly used tear gas and live ammunition to disperse residents protesting a lack of electricity, resulting in injuries.

However, INCHR said its investigations found no evidence of a deliberate or systematic state policy to commit human rights violations.

The Commission also noted improvements compared with the previous reporting period, including zero recorded deaths resulting from excessive force by state security and zero deaths in state custody during 2025.

AIM4D Chairman Denies Drug Allegations, Threatens Legal Action

‎AIM4D International Ltd Chairman Prof. Nadim El Hage has dismissed social media claims linking him to a reported drug arrest in Liberia, calling the allegations false and defamatory.
‎
‎In a statement issued Tuesday, El Hage said the viral photo was taken during an official inspection of an AIM4D project site attended by former President George Weah and CDC officials, and has no connection to any criminal investigation.
‎
‎He urged the public to verify information before sharing it, called for the removal of the posts, and warned that legal action could be taken against those who continue to spread the allegations.

Where the Co***ne was confiscated today is at the back of Police Director Gregory Coleman house where he had lived along with his wife Janga Coleman for many years. The house adjacent where the Co***ne was confiscated is owned by the current LEC Managing Director and interestingly the Co***ne was arrested in the home of a Unity Partisan.

The Unity Party is not only irresponsible or childish but they are criminal minded like Vice President Jeremiah Koung and President Joseph Boakai.
