Liberian music legend Friday the "Cellphone Man" took to Facebook to blast Nigerian promoter Duke, claiming he disrespected both Friday and his manager. According to Friday, Duke allegedly said "Liberians are stup!d to buy his tickets, even if to go to his show." Friday made it clear he won’t accept that kind of talk, especially on Liberia holiday celebration. But in the same breath he told fans he "don’t blame duke at all" and that’s what got people talking.

Friday wrote on Facebook: "A nigerian promoter call Duke, he's Really disrespect my manager, and He can't disrespect me on my own holiday, but don't blame him at all. He's said liberian are stup!d, to pay for his tickets, he's wants to under pay me, and pay his Nigerian artist more money What's donse make sense all why Use my music for commercial."

The plot thickened fast when Liberia international DJ lib, who was one of the DJ's at the Liberia Festival in the USA, came out swinging with receipts. He said this was the same show that Nigeria AfroWizkidtar Wizkid headlined. The original agreement with Friday was $3,500 (700,000LD), plus two hotel rooms and ground transportation. But weeks later, DJ lib claims Friday team came back asking for $7,000 (1,400,000LD). That’s when the deal collapsed.

DJ lib didn’t hold back at Friday post "This is the fu8king problem with your Liberian artists and that’s why you been doing this s**t for years and still fu8king struggling!" He argued the disrespect didn’t start with Duke, it started when the price doubled for a show that was already set.

Now the question is loud. Did Liberian lose a major moment from Liberia legend Friday because of ego, or because contracts in the Liberia industry are still not taken serious?
