Most fans never see what happens before a superbike hits the grid. This is how Yoshimura_SERT_Motul uses LABA7 scales to weigh their Suzuki GSX-R1000R, and why it matters more than you'd think.
Every team in the paddock races under the same minimum weight limit, and every team tries to get as close to it as possible. On a 170 kg superbike, that means every kilogram, sometimes every gram, counts.
It's not just the bike that gets weighed. Riders step on in full gear too, and since there's no minimum or maximum for them, it's an open invitation for the team to joke about who's put on a few extra kilos.
Beyond full-bike weigh-ins, the same scales get used on individual parts, wheels, forks, and more. That kind of accuracy across such different weights is what makes them useful for more than just race-day checks.
