MASE is a creative studio portraying unbuilt architecture. We turn each project into imagery that resonates beyond the visual.

Mot sola. A bathing house strung along a glazed gallery that climbs 444 m out of Vindstad to a hill 94 m above the fjord - the first place the sun reaches when it
comes back on 26th of January at 12:46.

A weekend of sketching, mostly an excuse to test the tools.

She comes home somewhere around the hour the light turns red, drops her coat before she drops her bag and by the time anyone's checking, the dog has already claimed the better half of the sofa - head on her lap like he's the one who had the long day. Mornings are quieter, laptop balanced on crossed legs, coffee going cold on the round table while the sun draws long stripes across the rug through curtains she never quite gets around to closing all the way. There's a version of her standing very still at the dining table, watching something out of frame, and another with her eyes shut and headphones on in that blue chair that looks like it was poured rather than built And you get the sense the apartment doesn't perform for anyone - it just holds still long enough to be lived in, red evening light and all, dog included.

Visuals for 313 cable park apartments. We don't just build the room, we try to find who lives in it - a face, a habit, a dog that's clearly in charge - because a space only really means something once someone's there to mess it up a little.

Working on a residential project this year, we wanted to try something different from the usual set of static renders: a short film built around one couple moving through the space in a single evening, rather than a sequence of disconnected views.

The continuity is really the point. When the same two people move through arrival, entry and evening, the space stops reading as inventory and starts to feel inhabited. That's something stills rarely manage, however well composed they are.

The camera choices follow the same instinct. We deliberately never show the full building at once. Not because we couldn't, but because a complete, legible view of every material and window placement isn't really what moves someone. There's more feeling in what's withheld than in what's shown outright, and leaving the architecture unresolved is what gives a viewer room to imagine themselves being there.

Couple of interior shots for the Sendvaris Subdistrict Public Service Center architectural competition, where together with SOMA Architects we took 2nd place.

The multifunctional library serves as a flexible space, accommodating cultural events, learning activities and everyday reading and study. An open connection between the buildings fosters visual permeability and encourages spontaneous encounters, strengthening social interaction within the local community.

A few more exterior images for the Sendvaris Subdistrict Public Service Center architectural competition, where together with SOMA Architects we took 2nd place.

A network of intimate outdoor spaces extends around the building creating opportunities for relaxation and informal meetings. At the heart of the square, a mist-generating water feature evokes the atmosphere of a landscape after rainfall, transforming a natural phenomenon into an immersive architectural experience.

One image is never the image.

Every project we take on begins with exploration - testing light, atmosphere, perspective, rhythm. Searching for the feeling before refining the frame.

Because architecture is not experienced as a static object. It’s experienced through emotion, environment and human presence.

Through iterative testing, comparison, refinement, and discovery, we explore different narratives - uncovering what the project wants to become.

And that process matters as much as the final image.

Intention.

Every strong architectural image carries a quiet sense that nothing is accidental. Each decision made with care, each detail considered. Yet the goal is never for the image to feel staged or forced. The craft lies in guiding everything so precisely that it still feels as if the moment simply happened on its own. When intention is present, the image breathes naturally while quietly revealing the thinking behind it.

Balance.

One of the quiet principles behind strong architectural images. It lives in the relationship between color, composition, light and the dialogue between positive and negative space. When these elements support each other, the image feels effortless and clear. When they don’t, even the most technically perfect render can feel unsettled. The strongest architectural visuals often come from carefully balancing every element until the image simply feels right.

Water flows. Architecture listens.

A story of integration — where landscape, memory and form merge into one. Inspired by ancient life on water, reimagined through contemporary space.

Not an object in nature, but a continuation of it.
