In Douar Ladaam (Marrakech), community members, youth, parents, and education stakeholders came together for an open dialogue on girls' education and the challenges they face.
Through interactive activities, personal stories, and moments of reflection, participants shared their experiences, explored the impact of academic pressure on young people's mental well-being, and discussed how families, schools, and communities can create more supportive environments for girls to learn and thrive.
A heartfelt thank you to the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Morocco The Norwegian Embassy in Rabat for making this activity possible through their continued support of girls' empowerment. 💪💓

It was wonderful to meet with Mr. Abdellatif Chaouki, Director of the AREF Marrakech-Safi (Académie Régionale de l’Éducation et de la Formation) — the regional body overseeing public education across our region, home to nearly 1 million students in over 1,600 schools.
We’re so excited to be working together on several projects, including:
🎓 A project across 96 schools to help keep girls in school and combat child marriage, funded by the European Union (L'Union européenne au Maroc - الاتحاد الأوروبي بالمغرب)
🛡️ A project across 5 schools to prevent sexual harassment and train teachers and administrators, funded by Grand Challenges Canada .
🩸 A project to end period poverty — funded by the Gates Foundation’s Pivotal Award (Pivotal) — bringing menstrual education and sustainable menstrual kits to girls in over 300 schools
🤖 A project helping girls across 300 schools access trusted information on menstrual and reproductive health through our AI-powered WhatsApp chatbot, funded by UNFPA Maroc .
So grateful for partners like Mr. Chaouki, whose commitment to Morocco’s students makes projects like these possible. 🙏
