The French Riviera Blog
So it is ideal both for first time visitors and for new residents who have just arrived here and want to get to know the region better.
A totally personal guide to the very best that the French Riviera can offer, away from the obvious tourist traps - by a long-term foreign resident who has grown to love the region. This blog gives travel advice - sightseeing, restaurants and practical information - for the whole area between St Raphael and the Ligurian coastline of Italy, as well as some choice travel writing about other exotic destinations visited by the author. Any additional feedback or recommendations are more than welcome!

So lucky to get a quick visit of the construction site of the hospitality suites for the Monaco Grand Prix on Tribune T, with an amazing view of the pit lanes!

Spring in Monaco: much quieter than usual at this time of year and I’ve barely left the Principality to France since last October, but a great opportunity to enjoy the sunshine on lovely walks like this morning!

Welcome to the new-look Monte Carlo, full of art and flowers. I needed to get some fresh air after several online sessions and really enjoyed the vibes given out in the casino area where the modern architecture blends in well with nature in the superbly curated gardens (the jacarandas are gorgeous) and Belle Époque opulence combined with unique art ❤️

Beautiful spring weekend afternoon walk around the port of Monaco, we are still under lockdown here and I hardly go out but at least it’s nice to get some fresh air once a day 😊 Hopefully some light at the end of the tunnel soon but important to maintain discipline to get this situation under control and start to adapt to the “new normal”. In the meantime let’s stay positive and healthy and take care of those who need help, both individuals and businesses!

It’s maybe not the best time to visit Monaco and the French Riviera since all restaurants, bars and most public buildings have been shut down (guess why!), but it’s still possible to enjoy the fresh air and nice weather, whilst keeping distances! I just went for a walk around a deserted old town, vibes were interesting but still pleasant, reality will hit properly tomorrow...

Spring is getting a bit closer, lovely walk this afternoon before sunset along the romantic sentier des Douaniers in Cap d’Ail, just a stone’s throw away from Monaco!

Christmas market vibes in Monaco during a short pit stop back home before spending the festive season in northern Italy, good to be back to the French Riviera to rest between intercontinental business trips 😊

Beautiful sunrise in Monaco, seems the weather is changing after the heatwave, even though temperatures were nothing like what Paris and northern France experienced this week, don’t envy them!
