Sooo here’s the thing - event is fully booked already 😅 we’re happy but also a bit overwhelmed by your response, thank you! 🩷 So yeah unfortunately for now we can’t take anymore bookings for this (discussing a possible round 2, watch this space for more info).

But also we wanted to take the opportunity to clarify some details, which we didn’t do before (we were a bit too excited to publish the event hehe) …
🐖 Ramen has a pork broth base
🌱 There is NO vegetarian option
🌾 It’s not suitable for gluten-intolerant peeps cos of noodles and dumplings
🍜 The Ramen will be served as is (“li hareg il-kunvent” style) - no special requests or modifications. A lot of time, research and trials went into perfectioning this dish and modifying it in anyway would takeaway the magic
🤑 Please settle food payment on the day before seating, try to be on time as it may compromise service for others
❌ Event is not so suitable for kids and prams or bulky child carrying devices are not suitable, for everyone’s safety

If you've booked a spot but can't make it for any reason, just give us a heads-up so we can offer it to someone else. ❤️

This November, we’re joining forces with young Maltese chef Gabriel Upton to bring you something that’s never quite been done like this before.

Say hello to RAMEN MALTI 🇲🇹🇯🇵 A Maltese take on ramen built around slow-cooked pork, with carob syrup + caper brine in the tare, fennel, anise & oregano bringing the Maltese vibes, Japanese umami from shiitake + katsuobushi, and a very Maltese plot twist… bread turned into noodles, with a potato, miso & ġbejna dumpling.

And because no bowl of ramen is complete without a little something sweet, Gabriel is bringing his own twist on Maltese imqaret. 🍊 Think soft mochi filled with dates, a little clementine and orange blossom, finished with freshly grated mandarin zest. A proper Maltese classic, given a whole new look. 👀

The Deetss:

📍 POPP Gżira
🕛 12:00–20:00
🍜 Ramen Malti: €15 per person
🍡 Imqaret Mochi: €2 per piece (Optional)

Bookings only, with 2-hour slots available throughout the day.
The shop will be open as usual too, so feel free to POPP by for a b**r while you’re here. 🍺
