The World Health Organisation (WHO) is inviting persons with disabilities and representatives of Organizations of Persons with Disabilities to join an online consultation and share their perspectives, priorities, and lived experiences to help shape future health policy and systems research priorities.

During the 19th Conference of States Parties to the UNCRPD, the Directorate for Disability Issues held a bilateral meeting with the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (UN CRPD Committee), represented by Dr Miyeon Kim, Chair, and Prof. Markus Schefer. The Director for Disability Issues, Agenzija Sapport, the Commissioner for the Rights of Persons with Disability, and the President of the Deaf People Association (Malta) represented Malta.
The Directorate presented a letter from Minister for Inclusion and the Voluntary Sector, Julia Farrugia, highlighting Malta’s progress in implementing the Committee’s recommendations since Malta's 2018 UNCRPD Review. The discussion reaffirmed Malta’s commitment to advancing disability rights through meaningful participation, co-production with persons with disabilities, and continued collaboration with the Committee to ensure full alignment with the UNCRPD.
