On behalf of the Farrugia family and everyone at Neonglow, we would like to sincerely thank all those who attended Nannu John’s funeral, sent us messages, shared memories and supported us during these difficult days.

The kindness and respect shown towards Nannu have been truly overwhelming and a beautiful reminder of how many lives he touched throughout his long life and career.

Thank you for helping us in giving him the farewell he deserved.
His legacy and light will live on. ❤️

The funeral of John Farrugia will be held at Gżira Parish Church on Saturday, 26 September, at 8:30am.

Family, friends and all those who knew John are welcome to join us in celebrating his life and bidding him farewell.

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of John Farrugia, fondly known as “Johnie tan-Neonglow”, aged 95.

For more than 70 years, John dedicated himself to the craft of neon and signage, illuminating businesses and landmarks across Malta, Gozo and further afar. He founded Neonglow in 1975 and passed his knowledge and skills on to the generations that followed.

His legacy lives on through his family, his work and the final neon he ever made. The last photograph portrays John working on that final piece, continuing to practise the craft he loved until the end.

Details of his funeral will be announced in due course.

Our office and workshop will remain closed until further notice.
