Victoria is once again preparing for another festa, and this time it is the Feast of Santa Marija ✨
The streets are once again dressed in colourful decorations, the Gozo Cathedral is beautifully prepared, and the town is ready to welcome visitors for another of the island’s major festas, one that our guests at Maria Rosa Suites are fortunate to experience right on their doorstep.
The Feast of Santa Marija is also rich in history. Among its long-standing traditions is the Agricultural Fair at Villa Rundle Gardens, first held in 1855 and still enjoyed by thousands of visitors every year.
From church celebrations and religious processions to lively band marches, audiovisual displays, and spectacular fireworks lighting up the night sky, the coming days capture everything that makes a traditional Gozitan festa so special.

Festa week has arrived in Victoria ✨
For anyone who has grown up in Gozo, a festa is so much more than a celebration. It is traditions passed from one generation to the next, childhood memories, evenings spent with family and friends, the sound of band marches echoing through the streets, the excitement of fireworks, and an entire town or village coming together to honour its patron saint.
This week, Victoria celebrates the Feast of St George.
For our guests staying at Maria Rosa Suites, there couldn’t be a better time to experience the town. With church celebrations, religious processions, band marches, confetti displays, spectacular fireworks, and an unforgettable atmosphere unfolding just beyond our front door, they will have the opportunity to experience one of Gozo’s most cherished traditions first-hand.
