“The birth of Artistique Moderne marks the beginning of a change in the value society has placed on how things are made. This is a reaction to not only the damaging effects of industrialisation and extreme minimalism but also the relatively low status of the decorative arts.”

Artistique Moderne is an artistic style which mixes Art Nouveau motifs with modern technologies like the 3D chrome effect and pixel sorting.

This map’s purpose is to showcase my design inspirations. It consists of inspirational designers, 3D artists, tactile artists, hobbies, and interests. A mix of flat illustrations and 3D designs were used to showcase my design capabilities while also keeping the project neat and legible. Language Connection, Your Path to Fluent Connections - Testimonial 💜

Language Connection is a brand created for a local language school teaching English to a wide audience, including the Chinese demographic. The brief for this project was to create a modern logo which stands out from the saturated local market, along with a brand guideline.

Language Connection - Iconography 💬💜

The logo’s icon is minimalistic and straight to the point, as it represents what this language school does, which is to connect individuals to new opportunities through their newly learned language.

Language Connection - Brand Rationale 💜

Feng Shui, the ancient Chinese art theory, inspired the colours for this brand. This was done as one of the school’s main audiences was set to be Chinese individuals. Therefore, a balance between colours with positive connotations in Chinese culture and colours which in general represent learning, youthfulness and innovation had to be struck. The logo’s typography uses a simple sans serif which is also fun and youthful, so it could appeal to a young audience.

Thrift Journey - Your Neighbourhood Re-thrifted 💛

Thrift Journey is a fictitious app which helps users discover and navigate to local thrift shops. This app has a thrift spree feature which allows users to plan a route with multiple stops. It also allows users to make donations to and share their favourite local charities.
