Seasonal change online workshop - this Saturday afternoon!

This will be a mix of ayurvedic wisdom for autumn and the change of seasons, grounding as well as soothing nourishing yoga and yoga nidra.

Autumn is such a special time. Transformation, transitions... in the external world (think about the change of weather, the leaves on the trees changing colour) and internal (we might feel our digestion change, dry skin).

It’s Vata season. Vata being change and mobility. The wind and space element of movement. So our minds might also feel a bit scattered with too much thinking, overwhelm and anxiety. We may feel ungrounded in our mind from the increase of wind and dryness.

And change is always unsettling - although it is constant. Change or junctions (in ayurveda) can be vulnerable times so we want to be grounded and nourished. Find ways to soothe us through yoga and ayurveda.

This is what we will explore in the session together.

I know it’s short notice but if you are around you can join live although it is also recorded

Saturday the 3rd October 2:30-4:30pm

Ghee - butter for your whole being 💛
In ayurveda ghee is lubricating nourishing and nurturing our body and mind. Plus it can be taken internally (as food) or used externally on the skin. And it’s perfect for autumn

💛 It’s Sattvic for our minds and it soothes both Vata anxiety and Pitta frustrations

💛 It nourishes all our dhatus - or body tissues in ayurveda

💛 It kindles the digestive fire, agni, yet it is also cooling and soothing.

💛 It nourishes the skin and can also be used for skin irritations (bites or sun burn).

💛 It increases Ojas and has the resemblance of this healing nectar.

I wanted to share this ayurvedic gem with you because is is perfect for autumn with its nourishing qualities (for body, mind and skin). But it also kindles the digestive fire *and* it is cooling for any excess pitta or heat we might have accumulated over the summer.

Use it in your food, cook with it or add a spoonful over freshly cooked food so it can melt.

Apply it on the skin. I’m obsessed with Osi Oils Sacred Organic Ayurveda Face & Eye Cream. Yes, it ghee based and soooo nourishing on the delicate eye area - yet also light and calming

Autumn is a beautiful example of one of Ayurveda’s simplest ideas:
⬆️ like increases like.
🔁 opposites bring balance.

As the weather becomes cooler, drier and more changeable, Ayurveda describes the qualities of Vata becoming more prominent.

Vata is associated with qualities such as:
🍂 light
🍂 dry
🍂 cool
🍂 mobile
🍂 changeable

So rather than trying to push through the season in exactly the same way we did in summer, Ayurveda invites us to consider what might balance those qualities:

More warmth.
More nourishment.
More oil.
More steadiness.
More rest.
More grounding.

This doesn’t need to mean a complicated Ayurvedic routine.
It might simply mean a warm meal instead of a cold one, oiling your skin after a shower, slowing down your yoga practice, or giving yourself a little more space between doing and doing and doing.

Over the next few weeks I’m going to share some of my favourite simple ways of bringing Ayurveda into autumn — through food, yoga, self-care, breath and everyday life.
Because Ayurveda isn’t just something to know.
It’s something to notice.

This is the kind of seasonal wisdom we go deep into in Āyurveda: The Sister Science of Yoga — starting 13th Oct, early bird ends 1st Oct. Link in bio.

I am teaching the Ayurveda: The Sister Science of Yoga online course again this autumn and here are the details:
Six consecutive Tuesday evenings live on Zoom
Starting Tuesday 13th Oct 2026
5:30–7pm
All sessions recorded if you can’t make it live
Investment: £197
Save £50 when you book before 1st of October

This course is an insight into how I teach - and practice. From having taught yoga classes for over 20 years (and practised an additonal 10) and being an ayurvedic practitioner. Been studying, researching and living with yoga and ayurveda. And I am so excitng to share this course again!

We cover the doshas and how they show up in your body, your nervous system, your energy across the day and the seasons. We look at how to adapt your yoga practice (or teaching) based on what you actually need - not what the class plan says. And we talk about how to live with a little more ease, using principles that are thousands of years old and completely relevant to right now.

This is for all yoga practitioners, including those who are also yoga teachers.
Early bird £147 until 1st of October
Also: Free nervous system + dosha guide — DM me DOSHA or link in bio for both the PDF and course info

I’ve always struggled to find a hair oil for my thinner lighter hair. But Osi Oil has delivered once again (and I have a discount for you: ANJA10). This one is light enough to use even for everyday styling (thin flyaway hair - gone!) without weighing my hair down or make it look greasy.

In India I always admired these beautiful women, with thick long hair. Shiny (but not greasy) with oil. So I tried it too + I know from an Ayurvedic perspective it’s not just to look nice, the oils and herbs have additional benefits for our scalp health, for our mind and our whole being. Not to mention the benefits of a scalp massage - which are numerous.

Using traditional coconut oil made my hair greasy (and I smelled like a coconut!). Other oils also often had a very greasy texture and, yes, smelled strongly of the herbs.

It’s no secret I am a huge fan of - and this hair oil is perfect for my hair use ANJA10 to get a discount of their website 😉
