iLearn

You don’t always have to answer immediately.
Expressions like “Let me think about it” or “Let me get back to you” are natural ways to ask for a little more time before giving an answer.
💡 Simple phrases, but very useful in real conversations.

When working on TOEFL Structure, don’t choose an answer just because it “sounds right.”
First, identify the subject and the main verb of the sentence. Then ask yourself: What is missing?
💡 This simple step can help you recognize incomplete clauses, extra verbs, and incorrect answer choices much faster.

Instead of always saying “Yes” or “Okay,” try these expressions when someone invites you to do something.
💡 “Count me in!” is a natural way to say you want to participate, while “I’m down for that” is more casual and commonly used among friends.
Small expressions like these can make your everyday English sound much more natural.

Both words are commonly used with the present perfect, but they don’t work the same way.
🔹 Already usually tells us that something has happened:
I’ve already seen that movie.
🔹 Yet is common in questions and negative sentences:
Have you seen it yet?
I haven’t seen it yet.
💡 Remember the position:
already → usually before the past participle
yet → usually at the end of the sentence

In professional communication, you’ll often need to let someone know that you’ll share updates as things develop.
💡 “I’ll keep you posted” is common and natural, while “I’ll keep you in the loop” is especially useful when someone needs to stay involved or informed.

Don’t spend too much time on one difficult question.
If you’re unsure, eliminate the options that clearly don’t fit, choose the best answer, and keep moving. ⏱️
💡 Good time management is essential. Make sure you reach the end of each section and don’t leave questions unanswered.

Plans and opinions change! Instead of always saying “I changed my mind,” try adding expressions that make your English sound more natural.
💡 “On second thought…” is perfect when you reconsider a decision after thinking about it again.
Example: “Let’s order pizza. On second thought, let’s cook at home.”

Both expressions introduce a reason, but what comes after them is different.
🔹 Because + subject + verb
She was late because she missed the bus.
🔹 Because of + noun / noun phrase
She was late because of the traffic.
💡 Remember: because introduces a clause, while because of is followed by a noun or noun phrase.

Sometimes you need more time to complete a task, and the way you ask matters.
Instead of simply saying “I need more time,” use professional expressions that explain your request clearly and respectfully.
💡 “Would it be possible to extend the deadline?” is a great option for emails and workplace conversations.
