An insatiable seeker, casually aspiring to musical enlightenment, Gano's sonic journey began in the Colorado rave scene in the early 00's, throwing parties and spinning acid and tribal house. Then moving to San Francisco, he eased into a deeper, more organic sound, joining up with the collective "Crackerjack". He also got his first taste of the Burning Man vibe via some of the legendary after-hours parties, like Anon Salon. In 2007, he chased a Canadian beauty he met on playa up to Victoria, BC and subsequently immersed himself in the Vancouver island house and techno scene. Playing clubs and festivals across the province and performing alongside world-class artists, his loyal, discerning fan base quickly grew. He and his crew built a 30' long mobile rave unit (aka mutant vehicle) featuring a 10kw sound system, 20' tall fiberglass trees (with sound-responsive LEDs), and a roof-top dj booth + dance floor. For 2013 & 2014, the TreeHouse won hearts across Burning Man with their soul-warming blend of house music. These days, thanks to a flexible day job as an online poker pro, Gano spends most of his waking hours engaging with music spanning an eclectic range of genres. Solomun, Vintage Culture, and Kimonos all delivered on a mind-blowing, hyper-energy show at Tehmplo last night. I’m feeling so inspired musically and look forward to going back and exploring where this influence will lead my creativity.

It’s a joy to be back on the decks. Every winter, we all seem to retreat into our cocoons. I spend most of that time noodling in the studio. Then, as spring warms into summer, the parties, festivals, gatherings, all heat up. I shift to crafting DJ sets. And we all spend more time together!
This music means so much to me. I can’t imagine a life without it. And I feel so blessed to have friends that like it too. Thanks for dancing with me!
