JUJURWORK Brings Korean Street Culture to a Kuantan Rooftop in Malaysia JUJURWORK turns a 1970s Kuantan rooftop into Jibungae KBBQ, a vivid Korean barbecue destination shaped by Seoul street culture.

How do you build a heavy structural pavilion on an active rooftop? Precision prefabrication. 🏗️✨

To bring Jibungae Kbbq ‘s bold identity to life without disrupting the building below, we engineered the central hanok pavilion entirely off-site. Fabricated into 12 modular steel components (six bases, six unroofed tops), the entire structure was craned directly onto the roof and locked into place.

Getting a massive steel pavilion onto a 1970s Kuantan rooftop? Challenge accepted! 🏗️✨

Sometimes people underestimate female designers when it comes to heavy structural logistics, but let’s be real—we live for hyper-organized planning and flawless ex*****on! 💁‍♀️💅

To avoid disrupting the active building below, we prefabricated the entire hanok structure off-site. We meticulously modeled all 12 steel components in Rhino 7 to ensure the connections were millimeter-perfect. Because of our obsessive prep work, crane day was an absolute dream. Those massive steel pieces swung into the sky and locked together perfectly on the very first try—no heavy on-site welding required! 🧩🏗️
