I found a big beautiful temple that's willing to inherit my gods after speaking with 6 temples.

When I asked them if they wanted to go to a temple, they gave me 3 immediate yeses. They gave a dream to my dad that they wanted to go to a temple. When I asked them if they wanted to go to Hean Boo Thean temple, I got another 3 immediate yeses. The signs are clear, they wanted to go there!

Now they look happy at the temple, I also feel relieved that I finally found them a good home!

Today is my goddess's birthday, we prepared some offerings to thank her and other gods for their blessings. Recently I had an inkling that they want me to donate them out to a big temple and asked for confirmations by throwing the divination blocks, I got 3 yeses, the altar is not included. My father just had a dream that they want to go to a temple!

They are beautiful, more than 200 years old, a total of 17 of them contained in a box residence, have been with my family for generations, my great grandmother brought them all the way from China when she moved here. The carvings are very intricate with meticulous details and patina from the incense of hundred years. If you know of any big temple connection that's willing to inherit them, let me know. The final decision will depend on them based on another divination.

Happy Sunday everyone! We got back to low effort cooking as my mom decided to take a break. Take care !

Nyonya Phua Kiam Tnee Chang or sweet and savoury glutinous rice dumplings. Mom made them, my brother and I just helped out to wrap them.

Ingredients:
Glutinous rice steamed with coconut milk, salt and pandan leaves. The filling is made of candied wintermelon, ground peanuts, sand ginger, coriander seeds powder, and sugar.

These dumplings are made with sweet potatoes and glutinous rice flour, to be cooked in ginger muscovado syrup with pandan leaves.

The only way to know if an idea works is to test it out. Today was the day I tested out the idea of laying beansprouts flat by their roots on a chopping board and cut them off with a knife.

I've had this idea in my head for the longest time, it works like a charm! It's faster and neater!

Nipping beansprouts is always my job to indulge my mom who always wants them to be nipped. She always compliments how good they look after the roots are nipped off. Penang char koay teow or the famous smoky spicy fried rice noodle that has earned us the best street food city in Asia was in the menu!
