OFFICIAL STATEMENT – BAE RACING TEAM

The race has concluded, and we fully respect the decisions made by the Stewards and the Clerk of the Course (COC). However, as this incident has been brought into the public domain, we believe it is important to present the facts from our perspective.

* Car #77 was competing for P3 in class, with P4 close behind. Every second and every position mattered.
* While managing traffic from faster-class cars, Car #77 balanced two responsibilities: minimising time loss in its own class battle while safely facilitating overtaking opportunities.
* Approaching Turn 12, Car #77 had already yielded the racing line. Car #90 completed a clean overtake. Meanwhile, from Turn 11 onwards, Car #268 had committed to the correct racing line in preparation for an overtake while Car #77 continued to facilitate the pass. At that point, Car #91 made contact with the rear of Car #77 instead of completing the pass on the available racing line, forcing Car #77 off the circuit.
* From Turn 11 through Turn 14, Car #268 remained on the correct racing line and completed its overtake safely at Turn 14 without incident. During the same sequence, Car #91 had multiple opportunities to execute a safe overtake using the available racing line. Instead, exiting Turn 14, with Car #268 to the right and Car #91 to the left, Car #77 was left with no remaining racing room and was forced into the wall.
* The responsibility of a faster-class car when overtaking a slower-class car is clearly defined in the MTCC Sporting Regulations and reinforced during every official drivers’ briefing.

This statement is not intended to challenge the officials’ decision. We respect the Stewards, the COC, and the championship. At the same time, we have a responsibility to support our driver, protect our team’s integrity, and present our account when our actions are publicly questioned.

With this, we consider the matter closed and remain committed to competing with professionalism, respect, and sportsmanship.
