But somehow, around one table, we all speak the same language — good food, good company, and a little happiness.

From the flavours we grew up with to the new ones we discover together, food has always had a way of bringing us closer.

At Rasa Rasa, we believe a table is more than just a place to eat.

It’s where families gather, friends reconnect, strangers become familiar faces, and memories are made over one more plate. 🫶🏻

Bak K*t Teh = pork? 🤔 Maybe not as simple as we think.

The word 肉 (Bak) means meat.
猪肉 = pork
鸡肉 = chicken
鱼肉 = fish

Traditionally, Bak K*t Teh is best known in its pork version — but today there are also chicken, seafood and other variations.

Sometimes, what separates us isn’t the food.
It’s what we assume about it.

But do you know Nasi Goreng Daun Ubi? 🌿

A familiar Malaysian favourite, with a little Borneo in it.

Daun ubi has been part of everyday cooking in Sarawak for generations ,simple, local, and full of character.

Because sometimes, discovering Malaysian food is also discovering a little more about each other. 🇲🇾

What’s one Sarawak dish you think every Malaysian should know?

Mee Pok. Mee Pork. Sounds close but they’re definitely not the same thing. 😅

With the recent conversation around mee pok, we thought this was a good reminder of something.

Malaysia has so many cultures, languages and foods that none of us can possibly know everything.

And that’s okay.

When we don’t know something, we can ask.
We can learn about it.
We can understand each other a little better.

We don’t serve Mee Pok at Rasa Rasa but we do believe that food is one of the easiest ways for Malaysians to learn about one another.

So we’re starting something new:
