Some projects start with a website briefing, others start with us quietly staring at an old logo for 15 minutes before collectively agreeing that one's optical nerves deserve better.
So alongside the new website for Aloegrove, we ended up giving the logo a quick facelift. Purely because we couldn’t emotionally continue designing around the previous one.
The project quickly escalated from “let’s build a lodge website” into:
• full website design & development
• lodge photography
• complimentary virtual tours of selected rooms and main areas
• content structuring
• mobile optimisation
• and a mild amount of sunburn somewhere in the Namibian wilderness
Since we were already on location with cameras and equipment, we decided to create a few virtual tours for the lodge at no additional cost. You’ll spot them integrated into the homepage banner and accommodation pages, allowing visitors to visually explore parts of the property before even arriving.
The new website focuses heavily on visuals and atmosphere, because Aloegrove is one of those places where explaining it with text alone feels slightly unfair.
Massive thank you to the Aloegrove team for trusting us with the project and for tolerating us wandering around with cameras, drones and tripods in places where normal guests usually just relax peacefully.
Website crafted by Asylum. Built from scratch, as always.
No templates. No WordPress. No suffering.

Another one escaped from the Asylum. And this one evolved.
Over the past months, we’ve been deeply involved in one of the biggest and most ambitious branding projects we’ve ever touched. Ultimate Safaris has transformed into ultimate.earth.
This was not a simple logo refresh. This was a complete reimagining of a brand that has spent years building its reputation within Namibian tourism and conservation.
Behind the scenes were countless brainstorming sessions, presentations, strategy discussions, logo explorations, typography studies, colour experiments and moments where everybody stared at the same design for three hours questioning reality.
The real driving force behind all of this is Tristan. His passion for the tourism industry, his dedication to the company, and his vision for furthering both the Namibian tourism market and conservation sector are what ultimately pushed this transformation into existence. Most of the core ideas and direction came from him. My role was to take that vision and translate it visually into something cohesive, functional and emotionally recognisable across every touchpoint.
And those touchpoints were everywhere.
The rebrand stretched across printed guest material, merchandise, product packaging, safari items, hospitality elements, field guides, digital platforms, social media assets, internal branding and the newly rebranded website. Every single item had to feel connected to the same world and the same philosophy.
This project pushed us creatively, mentally and visually in every possible direction. But seeing it all come together has honestly been one of the most rewarding experiences we’ve had inside the Asylum.
The new websites are still on the horizon, but the transformation has officially begun.
