Nobody prepares you for the year after university in Nigeria.

You finish. You wait for NYSC. You serve. You come back.

And then there is this gap, this strange, in-between season where you are technically an adult with a degree and absolutely no idea what comes next.

The job market is not what they told you.
The opportunities are not distributed the way anyone pretended.
The connections that are supposed to open doors are either not there or require a version of yourself you have not built yet.

And you sit in that gap wondering if something is wrong with you. Nothing is wrong with you.

Gleefield tries to be, the thing that holds you through the gaps. The community that makes the in-between seasons feel less like failure and more like formation.

If you are in that gap right now, or you know someone who is our door is open. 💚

There is a script most Nigerian young people receive very early.

School. University. Good grades. Corporate job. Car. House. Marriage. Children. In that order.

Nobody asks if it fits your life.

Following it to the letter and still feeling empty is one of the most confusing things a person can experience.

Because from the outside, you have done everything right.
From the inside, you cannot shake the feeling that you are living someone else's story.

If this has ever been you, drop a 💚 — .

Let’s be real: there’s a special kind of loneliness that comes with being ambitious in Nigeria .

You can’t say you’re struggling because people are depending on you, and saying you’re ‘lost’ feels like a luxury you just can’t afford.

So, you keep grinding,
you stay busy, and you end up performing a type of certainty you don’t even feel.

And somewhere in the middle of all that, you just lose the thread of who you actually are.

But here’s the gist:
you’re not behind and you’re not broken.

Gleefield exists for people exactly like you 💚.
If you’re feeling this, our DMs are wide open. Let’s talk.

As we enter July today, the mission stays the same.

We are not just observing change, we’re becoming it together, as a community 💚.

Here's to achieving more this next half of the year. 🥂

Happy new month!

Hi Community!

Okay so if you have not watched the Adesuwa Rhodes x School of Hard Knocks video, go and watch it.

But the part that really got us was not the interview.
It was what she posted after.
She said James Dumoulin came to her office, they talked, he left. She went back to her desk, back to work.

Then, He wanted to interview her.

She was not expecting it.
She said she genuinely did not think she would be someone he would want to feature.
She took a breath. And said yes.

Because, in her words, " these moments don't knock twice."

We thought about that for a while.
Because she was not lucky in that moment.
She was ready.

Years of building something real, quietly, seriously.

That is what made yes the obvious answer when the knock came.

That is the work Gleefield is trying to do with young people.

Not to manufacture the moment.

But to make sure that when it arrives, you are not scrambling.
The knock will come. 💚
