African Rural Community Development Initiative (ARC DI)

Building a World of Possibilities One Book at a Time

African Rural Community Development Initiative (ARC Development Initiative) is a non-profit organization that seeks to improve and expand education in rural communities. ARC Development Initiative aims to ameliorate education at the primary school level by providing students with access to academic and other reading materials. Libraries are custodians of knowledge and provide a wealth of resources for academic exploration and self-empowerment. We believe that all children should have access to books in order to aid them in their academic development. We also help in tutoring students and providing training to teachers. The stark difference between primary school students in private schools who have access to a variety of reading materials and space and their counterparts in underprivileged rural communities cannot be over emphasized. We intend to fill this gap and support the efforts of the government and the international community to provide universal basic education for all.
