DELTA NORTH YOUTHS WILL REPAY OKOWA GOODNESS IN 2027 - PROMISE OGUMU

Says Youths Will Rally Round Okowa, APC In 2027

The Senior Special Assistant to the Delta State Governor on Youth Mobilization, Mr. Promise Ogumu has declared that youths of Delta North Senatorial District will repay the "goodness" of the immediate past Governor of Delta State, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa by massively supporting him and the APC in the 2027 general elections.

Ogumu made this known while addressing a gathering of youth leaders across the 9 LGAs of Delta North.

According to him, Senator Okowa’s 8-year administration laid the foundation for youth development in the state through skills acquisition, job creation, and appointments of young people into key positions.

“The youths remember. We remember the bursaries, the YAGEP, STEP, and the opportunities that gave many of us a source of livelihood.
That is why we will rally round our leader, our father, and our APC Delta North Senatorial Candidate, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa to return him to the Senate.”

He said the youth structure across Anioma is already being mobilized to ensure 100% support for all APC candidates from the presidency to the state assembly in 2027.

Ogumu also commended the incumbent governor, Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori for continuing youth-focused policies under the MORE Agenda noting that the synergy between the past and present administrations is what Delta North needs.

“We are not going back. We are moving forward with APC. The youths of Delta North are awake, organized, and ready to vote massively for competence, for experience, and for our son *Senator Ifeanyi Okowa,” he added.

The SSA called on all youth groups to shun distractions and remain united behind the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and Senator Ifeanyi Okowa for the progress of Delta North and Nigeria at large.

2027: Why I Will Not Sponsor New Bills as Delta North Senator – Victor Ojei

Delta Decides

Comrade Victor Ojei, the Action Peoples Party (APP) candidate for Delta North, popularly known as Wong Box Nigeria, has stated that he will not sponsor any new bills if elected to the Senate in 2027.

He made this declaration during an interactive session with reporters of Delta Decides.

Explaining his unconventional stance, Ojei noted that Nigeria already possesses a plethora of inactive laws.

Rather than adding to the volume of legislation, Wong Box emphasized that his primary focus will be to reactivate and strengthen these existing legal frameworks to ensure they are effectively implemented.

Citing a specific example, the senatorial hopeful pointed to an existing mandate requiring federal and state governments to compensate the families of kidnapping victims, lamenting that such a crucial law has remained largely ineffective.

“This is what I will focus on when I emerge victorious come 2027,” he affirmed.

Beyond legislative oversight, Ojei disclosed plans to establish a special committee to collaborate with the Delta State Government on the rehabilitation of deteriorating federal roads within the senatorial district.

He assured that he would expedite the necessary actions to ensure the federal government reimburses the state for these infrastructural interventions.

“My people will feel the true impact of quality representation when I emerge as the Senator for the Delta North Senatorial District,” he added.

Petrol price rises in Abuja as Dangote increases gantry rate

Petrol prices have risen to about N1,430 per litre in Abuja, causing concern among residents.

The latest incease comes after Dangote Petroleum Refinery increased it’s gantry price by N85, from N1,265 to N1,350 per litre, amid a surge in global crude oil prices.

Brent crude, the benchmark for Nigeria’s oil, was trading at about 107.92 dollars per barrel, and has now risen to 108.21 dollars per barrel.

The increase has intensified pressure on downstream operators and triggered further adjustments in petrol prices across the FCT.

Motorists will most likely be faced with higher prices at filling stations in the coming weeks, higher transportation costs and more financial burden on households.

As of this morning, some filling stations have adjusted their prices from N1,350 to N1,400 per litre to N1, 430 per litre.

“After Traditional Marriage, You Have No Right to Sleep With Her Until the Church Wedding” — Christian Writer

A Christian writer identified on X as The Light has urged Christian couples not to end their marriage ceremonies with the traditional wedding.

She argued that couples should proceed to church for their marriage to be blessed and claimed that they should not begin having sexual relations until after the church wedding.

“It’s sickening seeing this generation of Christians avoiding church weddings,” she wrote.

Her statement raises a major question about Christian marriage: Is a church wedding biblically required, or is a properly conducted traditional marriage enough?

HOUSE DIVIDED: THE HURDLES FACING PRESIDENT TINUBU'S 2027 RIVALS

By Mr. Governor Okojere

Nigeria’s disunited opposition landscape is turning into a busy construction site. Ahead of the 2027 presidential election, opposition parties are trying to build one big coalition. Their main goal is to unseat President Bola Tinubu. But will it be easy?
In politics, where egos tower and allegiance drifts like clouds, merging these groups into one formidable force is proving as tough as trying to draw water with a basket.

The political atmosphere is tense and heavy. It feels like the minutes before a tropical thunderstorm, where everyone knows thunder is coming, but no one knows where the first strike of lightning will land.

Big names like former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, Peter Obi, Rabiu Kwankwaso, Rotimi Amaechi, former Senate President David Mark, Rauf Aregbesola, and several others have first tried to unite under the African Democratic Congress (ADC) to challenge President Bola Tinubu in 2027.

However, that alliance collapsed under the weight of personal ambitions. Obi and Kwankwaso subsequently defected to the National Democratic Coalition (NDC), where they now serve as the party’s presidential and vice-presidential candidates, respectively.

Meanwhile, mainstream news platforms and social media are awash with speculation about a "new mega-coalition." This is happening even though several key opposition figures have already pitched their tents with different political parties, and a number of them have emerged as presidential flag-bearers of their respective parties.

This sudden shift raises critical questions: What made them change their minds now? What new plans do they have for Nigerians? Will they bring back the fuel subsidy and cancel President Bola Tinubu’s economic reforms if given the mandate? Who among these top contenders will step down for the other? Which political party will they adopt? And if either Atiku Abubakar or Peter Obi secures the coalition’s ticket on their promise of a single-term presidency, can four years be enough to turn Nigeria’s economic fortunes around?
In my opinion, that "single term" promise seems fraudulent. It sounds like “let me chop small, then I will leave” dressed up in big grammar.
Look at it from this perspective: a politician says he wants to serve his country, and the Constitution gives him eight years—two full terms. Yet, he claims: "No, I will only be president for four years.” Haba! Who does that? That’s not patriotism, nor is it sacrifice — it's desperation! “No good doctor abandons surgery halfway just to prove he is humble.”

On reviving Nigeria's comatose economy, a walk down memory lane is instructive. Both Atiku Abubakar and Peter Obi declared during the 2023 presidential election campaign that they would end the fuel subsidy if elected. Their position aligned with that of the All Progressives Congress candidate, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, who described the subsidy regime as unsustainable and riddled with corruption.
At a Channels TV town hall in January 2023, Peter Obi went further by vowing to remove the fuel subsidy immediately upon assuming office, calling it “organized crime.”
But today — with their political fortunes seemingly going sour — both Atiku and Obi have adopted a new stance — a stance as hollow and insincere as an empty drum. It reeks of desperation and a lack of preparedness for the job they are seeking.

Atiku’s pledge to restore the fuel subsidy if elected is steeped in hypocrisy and deceit. Peter Obi, on the other hand, vacillates like a pendulum, swinging between "yes and no" one second, and "no" the next on whether or not he would reinstate it
Both men have once agreed that removing the subsidy was a bitter but necessary medicine to revive our ailing economy. But now, Atiku has made a surprising U-turn, playing politics with our pain by promising to restore the subsidy—a calculated attempt to hoodwink unsuspecting Nigerians just to win votes.
These political comedians are reading the room like weather forecasters, gauging the mood of Nigerians. This is window-dressing politics designed to serve only their interest, not those of Nigerians.

Curiously, murmurs are surfacing in political circles that some politicians are positioning former President Goodluck Jonathan as the only candidate capable of stopping President Bola Tinubu in 2027. However, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan has not said anything about it yet.
But let’s be honest about the motive. Those pushing this idea are not doing so out of patriotism, nor out of love for him. And certainly not because he did wonders in office. Their calculation is simpler and more transactional. They want him because he can only run for one term due to the constitutional tenure barrier.
But the thorny question remains: can Nigerians trust Dr. Goodluck Jonathan again?
His six-year tenure left deep scars. Boko Haram overran the North-East. The NEPA privatization brought bills, not power. ASUU strikes paralyzed universities for months. And the arms deal scandal exposed massive corruption.

Memory fades, but records don't. Can he honestly be trusted back in power? "If the pot that cooked your breakfast leaks, you don't use that same pot for dinner."
Unfortunately, it is sad to note that many of these politicians care more about 2031 than about Nigerians today. They prioritize personal ambition over national interest. Their focus is strictly on the fastest route to power in 2031. That is why a one-term candidate looks sweet to them.

For them, removing President Bola Tinubu is no longer politics. It is now an “all-machinery” crusade — every gear, every bolt, every spare part must move.
Nothing must be wasted. Is fuel price up? Content. Is food price up? Content. Is rain falling? Also content. The opposition has treated every economic pain point as just another entry in their content calendar.
Yet, there is a glaring gap in their criticism. They have not told Nigerians what they will do differently to revive the economy if elected. "It is easy to point at a leaking roof, but harder to show the blueprint for a new house."
President Bola Tinubu did not inherit a prosperous economy; he inherited one riddled with structural challenges. Money was wasted on the fuel subsidy, the exchange rate was broken, roads and power infrastructure were poor, and national debt was very high.
The opposition must answer one key question: Considering the ruined economy this administration inherited, was there truly any painless path to reform, especially given the saying "no pain, no gain"?
However, if the proposed mega-coalition is built solely on a shared hatred of President Bola Tinubu, rather than a clear plan to fix the country, it will likely fall apart under pressure.

More so, if the opposition relies on 2023 election arithmetic—believing a single candidate is a silver bullet to defeat President Bola Tinubu—it is a mistake to assume those same voting patterns will repeat in 2027.
Since 2023, the opposition landscape has been badly fractured. Many prominent figures have defected, with the majority joining the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

There is also the risk of a trust deficit within the coalition. Hand the ticket to Peter Obi, and a large number of Atiku’s northern base may walk away. Hand it to Atiku, and Obi's supporters—who are predominantly from the Southeast—will cry foul: "Two rams cannot drink from the same calabash without butting heads."

Finally, the viability of this mega-coalition rests not on political theater, but on the delivery of a pragmatic framework designed to improve the socio-economic reality of Nigerians, coupled with electoral validation. Its capacity to survive internal schisms and dislodge the incumbent administration of President Bola Tinubu remains a question only time can answer.

Real Empowerment Is Skills, Jobs, An Economy That Works — Not ₦50k Every Four Years ~ Mrs Obuh

Agboje Chuks

AGBOR — The campaign for a new direction in Ika South took another step forward on September 8, 2026, as Mrs. Ogor Tony-Obuh, the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate for the Ika South Constituency in the 2027 Delta State House of Assembly election, paid a consultation visit to the leadership and members of the One Mind Association in Agbor.

The meeting, held in a warm and engaging atmosphere, brought together executives, stakeholders, women, and youth representatives of the association.

It was convened to introduce Mrs. Tony-Obuh’s vision, seek strategic partnership, and request the association’s support and prayers ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Addressing the gathering, Mrs. Tony-Obuh commended the association, describing it as a group that truly lives up to its name.

“The name ‘One Mind’ speaks of unity, purpose, and direction. And that is exactly what Ika South needs at this time: a people of one mind working toward one goal — the progress of our land,” she said.

She noted that her decision to run was driven not by personal ambition, but by deep conviction, prayer, and a desire to serve.

Recalling her travels across the 25 Local Government Areas of Delta State alongside her late husband, she explained how those experiences exposed her to the everyday struggles of ordinary citizens.

“I saw schools without teachers. I saw hospitals without drugs. I saw roads that break our vehicles and break our spirit. I made a promise to God and to myself that if I ever had the opportunity, I would be part of the solution. That opportunity is now, and it starts with representing Ika South in the Delta State House of Assembly,” she stated.

Mrs. Tony-Obuh emphasized the vital role of the legislature was shaping the constituency's future.

“Laws are made there. Budgets are passed there. The voice of Ika South must be loud, clear, and effective there. I am not going to the House to warm a seat. I am going to work for you — the trader in the market, the student in the classroom, the farmer on the farm, the youth seeking opportunity, and the mother in the home,” she affirmed.

Laying out her primary agenda, she called for an end to political imposition and godfatherism, advocating instead for genuine, people-driven representation.

“The time when one person sits down to decide who represents all of us is over. Power belongs to the people. In the NDC and in this movement, every voice will count. There will be fairness, transparency, and access. If you elect me, my office will be your office,” she assured.

Directly addressing the members of the One Mind Association, she asked for three key things: their prayers, ideas, and active support.

“I am not coming with money to buy support; I am coming with a plan to earn your support. I need your wisdom because you know the challenges on the ground. I need your structure because you are present in every community. And I need your vote so that together, we can send a strong, new voice to the House to represent us all.”

Touching on economic sustainability, she emphasized youth and women empowerment as core priorities, contrasting her vision with short-term political handouts amidst ongoing criticism surrounding the temporary ₦50,000 disbursement initiatives in the Ika Federal Constituency.

“Real empowerment is not ₦50,000 once every four years. Real empowerment means skills, jobs, access to capital, and an economy that works.”

“As your representative, I will push for vocational training, business grants, market access, and policies that put our youth and women at the center of development in Ika South.”

In response, the Chairman and members of the One Mind Association received the candidate warmly, commending her humility, track record, and clear message.

He noted that the association was founded to promote unity, development, and the welfare of the Ika people, adding that they remain open to collaborating with leaders who share these core values.

Describing Mrs. Tony-Obuh as "a daughter of the soil with a listening ear," the association promised to take her message back to their ward and unit levels for further deliberation.

Marilyn Okowa Primed to Emerge Majority Leader in Delta State House of Assembly

DELTA DECIDES

Emerging political calculations indicate that Marilyn Okowa-Daramola, daughter of former Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, may be positioning to become the next Majority Leader of the Delta State House of Assembly.

Sources close to the matter suggest that the recent disqualification of current Majority Leader Emeka Nwaobi from the All Progressives Congress (APC) primary screening was part of a broader strategy to pave the way for a new legislative leader.

A political insider speaking on the condition of anonymity disclosed that had Nwaobi secured a return to the Assembly, his status as one of the most senior ranking members would have made it politically difficult to pass the position to Okowa-Daramola.

"Governor Sheriff Oborevwori felt his hands were tied regarding Nwaobi’s return," the source noted, adding that while the situation created some internal friction, the governor reportedly compensated the Majority Leader with a promise for a high-profile political appointment.

Developments regarding the political alignment in the Assembly remain ongoing.
