They Entered His Home and Shot Him 7 Times. A Nigerian Bishop Is Dead in South Africa.
On the evening of September 4, 2026, Bishop Taiwo Michael Fakunle, a 58-year-old Nigerian cleric and founder of the Settled Word Leadership and Theological Seminary in South Africa, was shot dead inside his own residence in Kensington, Johannesburg.
Two unidentified suspects broke into his home and opened fire, hitting him more than seven times. He did not survive.
Bishop Fakunle was from Iye, Ilejemeje Local Government Area in Ekiti State, Nigeria. He had built his life and ministry in South Africa, serving his community and leading an institution of faith and learning.
A murder case has since been opened at the Jeppe Police Station in Johannesburg.
The Nigerian Consulate General in Johannesburg has condemned the killing in the strongest terms and formally demanded a thorough investigation from South African authorities.
The Nigerian community in South Africa is in mourning. And many are asking hard questions about the safety of Nigerians living on that side of the continent.
Me: what Nigerians are doing in south Africa 🇿🇦🇿🇦 by now. I thought Nigeria Govt brought free flight for evacuation. Hmmm

You Won’t Know How Sweet Freedom Is Until You Lose It 💔
Stop Yahoo , (STOP ONLINE SCAM) or internet fraud, nothing good
comes from defrauding innocent people of their hard earned money. Karma is real.
You cannot build your life on another person's sorrow and expect to escape the consequences from nature. Life doesn't work that way.
Only if they will learn 🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬🇳🇬

BREAKING NEWS
A Kenyan police officer has urged Kenyans not to attack immigrants running small businesses, pointing to South Africa as a warning of where xenophobic anger can lead
His message is simple: if someone is working, running a shop, feeding their family, and contributing to the economy, don’t make them the enemy because of where they come from 💯
South Africa’s repeated xenophobic attacks have shown how quickly frustration over jobs and the economy can turn into attacks on innocent people and businesses 💔
Say less 😮💨🇰🇪: Fight the problems, not the immigrants trying to survive too.

Hundreds of Burundians remain gathered outside the Burundian Embassy in Nairobi, with some reportedly camping there for days as they seek travel documents to leave Kenya. Some say they have gone without food and have nowhere to go, while others have reportedly sought temporary shelter in churches as they wait for assistance.
The Burundians say they are facing discrimination, harassment and hostility from some Kenyans following the government’s crackdown on foreigners operating small-scale businesses. Some say they no longer feel safe returning to the communities where they previously lived and worked, while others fear that remaining in Kenya could expose them to further harassment or even violence.
The Kenyan government has announced a 90-day period for undocumented East Africans to regularise their status and has warned against xenophobia and violence against foreign nationals. But for the Burundians gathered outside their embassy, the situation has become a humanitarian crisis, with many now questioning where they will live, find food and rebuild their lives if they are forced to leave Kenya.
